Replying To ballydalane:  "It's not "bang", it's "beng": "beng, over the bar!", "beng, goal!"

Cyril used to always say "as such" for no apparent reason, "he's a great player, as such" or ""the backs need to get tighter to their men, as such" - made no sense whatsoever! He's stopped using it now, I think RTE gave him electric shock treatment everytime he said it.

PS, try counting how many times Ger"the renegade master" Canning says "back once again" in today's match."
what about Martin Carney's "it must be said"?

No team is complete without an orthodox wing back on one wing and a southpaw on the other.

Winning the dirty ball ........ full back line cleaning up in there (?? the aforementioned dirty ball) ........ a bit of a wild pull there...........neatly struck ......... lovely clean fetch in the middle of the park (dirty ball obviously cleaned at this stage)........the short whistle......running repairs (new togs needed).....the magic water bottle (remember zebedee in the magic roundabout)........Joe Brolly what you think of that!!!!!

"It a Tyrone player had done that there'd be uproar / wigs on the green / twitter would explode..."

Have read that expression or variation thereof about 5 or 6 times on here since Sunday.

In fairness to the Tyrone lads it does look like it a bit.

Another cliché of the past few years.

As Colm 'alluded' to Mayo are lacking a real marquee forward. Actually 'marquee forward' is another one.

Why can't the pundits say as Colm said, as Pat mentioned etc. What's with all this 'alluding'.

P.s. Does a 'marquee forward' live in a tent?
