rewatch the match lads....everyone is just assuming sheehan would have kicked that free

Rewatch the last 5 mins my friends. Kerry won a free from more or less the excact same spot, and what did Bryan do? He short passed it, he didnt kick it
So people making assumptions havent a leg to stand on :)

Nothing to do with looking for praise, I just think that the comment "we should have won the game" is curious considering the evidence, i.e Dublin dominated possession and territory, and created much more scoring opportunities, so it was not against the run of play that they won the game. Sure either side could have won the game but I think if Eamon Fitzmaurice suggested even to his own players that he thought they should have won the game he'd get some strange looks. Maybe he was misquoted or mis-translated.

Its nothing to do with a desire praise.WE don't any praise from Kerry folk I can assure you. We set our own standards.
It's more bemusement at the self-delusion of it all. This is same guy who sees acts of 'rape and pillage'
being inflicited on his poor defenceless players.

If the game was 60 minutes instead of 70 then kerry would have won. Sometimes the clock runs out on a team trying to get back into a game and sometimes the team in front cant hold onto the lead for the entire game. It seems that 3 of the last 4 championship meetings between dublin and kerry, the later was the case. It does go down to the last 10 minutes and there is where you need the bench.

I cant blame Fitzmaurice for saying this - it means that he wanted to win badly, rather than wanting to lose with honour.

I do think that the Dubs were the better team overall though.

Not really. He conceded that Dublin were the better team but Kerry had chances to win the game in last 5 minutes or so. There is nothing contradictory in that.

Ye've had a canary at every turn where Kerry have mentioned factors that also contributed to Kerry losing, other than Dublin being the better team.

I would be a little worried with those comments, if he doesn't think that much change is needed if i was a Kerry supporter. Of course i'm just implying that."
Interviews are hot air. Like a barman shooting the breeze about the weather. It means absolutely nothing. Only a fool takes it seriously.

I do worry about some self professed Dublin fans. They are knocking a lot of bother out of supporting a team that may soon win 4/6 since 2011. If this purple patch gives ye so little pleasure, how will ye be fixed when ye hit the doldrums again?

So, he believes Kerry had opportunities to go and win the game (they did) and didn't take them (also true). There is literally nothing controversial about that statement.
