A O'Shea should have had a penalty - when he tried to get up after the first tackle, he was clearly dragged down inside the square. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 996 - 01/10/2016 18:33:25 1921127 Link 1 |

That defeat is on Mayo's management team.The decision to play Hennelly cost them badly. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 01/10/2016 18:45:37 1921129 Link 1 |
It is on the Mayo management.

gutted for Mayo, truly disappointed for them, but I hope posters acknowledge what a fantastic and brave team this Dublin side are and dont whinge about "buying success", or Croke park being a home pitch or any of that crap. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 01/10/2016 18:47:58 1921131 Link 1 |
Read through every post of mine over the past month. I was deegans biggest advocate. But what was done to Mayo today was bad. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5017 - 01/10/2016 18:52:00 1921132 Link 1 |
Richfords decision to change keepers has been at a very serious price today. Mayo have no luck and break my heart to watch so I can't even imagine how Mayo people feel. I personally have tears in my own eyes right now watching Mayo players console Robbie Hennelly. That being said this Dub side have now made history as one of the best teams ever. They always seem to make it over the line as winners. There were great performances from numerous players on both sides today and the second half was simply great stuff to watch. seanie_boy (Tyrone) - Posts: 4235 - 01/10/2016 18:52:48 1921134 Link 0 |
How ironic! The Mayo players ousted their management team last year because they wanted someone in charge who could get them over the line. The end result was that they lost today because of Rochford's decision to select Hennelly. He was directly responsible for 1-4 of Dublin's tally and also for putting Keegan in the situation that led to the black card. He did not make a single positive contribution whereas Clark did not put a foot wrong when he came on. Unbelievable and absolutely sickening. Most of Dublin's star forwards played total sh**e over the two games. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 996 - 01/10/2016 18:54:33 1921136 Link 0 |

Congratulations to Dublin. Better team on the day, took their chances when they mattered. From a very proud and thirsty Mayo man in the Upper Hogan. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7360 - 01/10/2016 18:58:14 1921139 Link 1 |

Have to agree with seanie boy, it is hard to watch grown men crying in the middle of the pitch and the close up of keegan shows that he is totally gutted and heherlly being consoled by team mates knowing in his heart that his mistakes possibly contributed to the teams downfall. At the end of the day it's a team game and all fall together or succeed. Big gamble to change keepers to try different tactics but was a mistake with little big game time for hereilly? poor sportsmanship from cluxton to not recognise mayo even if it is cringeworthy when your on your rse mourning.

Thank god he didn't do that cringe worthy exercise and I'm sure the Mayo players will feel the same. If it was " a round of applause for Mayo" it would be better and a bit more mature in fairness. Hip hip hooray sounds very juvenile and I hope Cluxton has set a new precedent.

Congrats Dublin. Lots of character. Seem to be able to afford costly misses and scoring opportunities at the end of games. Hard hard luck mayo. I do hope they will be back next year, but it is a big ask for them to keep coming back for more. I think it is up to the likes of Tyrone now to beat dublin as there is no one else out there capable of it at the moment. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 01/10/2016 19:09:52 1921149 Link 0 |
Deegan gave mayo every chance, played an extra 2 minutes, gave a free for a 50/50 high ball into Moran. But ultimately Rochfords bizarre call on Clarke cost Mayo. Dublin deserving champions. Congratulations to them and hard luck to Mayo, so close yet again.

There was time wasting in added time. At least 2 minutes of it so ref was perfectly right to add that at the end.
