Replying To Rayo:  "Its the same situation every year for Galway. Kilkenny was the first competitive game for Galway minors last year but they didnt collapse did they. so that excuse doesnt stack up."
Get your facts right Rayo, Galway'a route last year was a very different.

I'll tell what is shocking and that is your despicable post. These ARE kids we are talking about. The last thing they or their parents need to read now is the utterances of some disgruntled oul fella .

You queried the last time someone had 7 goals scored against them, they answered the query.

In fairness lads 5 of the goals could have been kept out.
As a former hurling keeper myself who once let in 8 goals I feel for that goalie.
2 he should have dealt with.
1 went under his legs.
2 others were hit from about the 21 probably could have saved them.
Look playing the likes of Antrim is no test. No disrespect to Antrim or Galway. They should be on opposite sides of the draw or included in a leinster or munster championship.

Yes, we could do without "supporters" like this. I would contend that despite the trashing, this is still a good Galway team. Didn't do themselves justice but neither did Waterford seniors in the Munster final. The difference is they got a chance at redemption. In the Leinster minor championship they have a round robin system and when you lose you get a second if not a third chance to put things right.

Despite our good record at minor and U21 I think in future we will struggle to win underage titles while the present system prevails. At All Ireland semi final stage the Munster and Leinster champions are too close to their peak for a young team to expect to beat them in their first seriously competitive match. There's been a lot of talk in the last few days about the 5 week lay off that Tipp and Kilkenny seniors had to deal with leading up to the All Ireland semi finals and many respected commentators have said that they believe the 5 week break affected both teams performances at the weekend. Put it into perspective, Galway minors had a 12 MONTH break to contend with. The wonder is that our minor teams are not on the receiving end of big beatings more often.
For the sake of Galway hurling we need to get our minor and U21 teams into the Leinster championship asap

For the sake of hurling, the current farcical system that is the supposed Provincial championships needs to be abandoned and a fair system needs to be put in place at all levels. Our hurlers were accused of being gutless and while they didn't get there, they certainly stood up and fought. Now is the time for our administrators to stand up and do the same thing, we can't allow ourselves to continue to be second class citizens.

Its a long enough day for many to get there without being in seats for an extra hour and a half/two hours. I was in lower Hogan and coming up from home was only able to get into ground by nearly half time of minor game. Many others in both counties would have further to travel than me and my dad etc

I bet the Galway Fans who did arrive early wished they had stayed in the bar.......................not only the worst Galway minor team ive ever seen, probably the worst Minor team from any county to ever take the field in croke park. Shocking stuff.

Disgraceful post that you should be completely ashamed of posting

But they were simply outclassed and your use of language to describe them was completely inappropriate

The same buck is on the Galway home page spouting the same poison. One can only assume one of the lads on the squad stole his girlfriend.

Or he could be so "passionate" that he believes the nonsense. Seems a very arrogant person. Almost as bad as the fool who was sitting next to me in the lower Hogan who was taunting galway fans throughout the minor and shouting a lot of nonsense

Yes your right 9 players from last years minor winning team which makes the collapse even more mind boggling. absolutely beaten by a better team on the day. Embarrassed is the word. Im not that old but i cant remember the last time a minor team or any team for that matter conceded 7 goals in croke park. Now that is what you call an off day.
Rayo (Galway) - Posts:60 - 14/08/2016 20:36:42
Having a lot of players returning in an age group is a help but doesn't mean much at the same time. They were simply out classed, out played and beaten by the better team. They did concede a few goals but that doesn't excuse your comments

Provincial championships don't need to be abandoned for a much fairer system to be put in place

The Galway County board are gutless while the Leinster Counties who consistently vote against Galway entering Leinster at U-21 and Minor level are hypocrites. Time for the useless Galway county board to get off their backsides, and insist on all Galway teams in Leinster or none at all. If the Leinster counties still vote against this, then it's time for the GAA to grow a pair, do away with the Minor and U-21 Provincial Championships, and either bring in an open draw, or four groups of four teams.
