Tipperary v Mayo

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I'm actually embarrassed this mayo team best tyrone. Tipp have beaten themselves not mayo. Thought the ref has been easy on mayo, was at least 2 possible black cards. How can Lee keegan be spoke to by the ref on 4 occasion but only have been shown a yellow? Umpire failed to called a Tipp player being pulled inside the box but other end an umpire signals the ref to give a Tipp player a yellow for a push.

The red card for an off the ball shoulder was a joke as well.

Getting hard to listen to the rte commentary now. .

They said coldrick issued the red card without consulting his officials, then showed a replay of a push behind coldricks back and spent 5 minutes giving out that it was a ridiculous red card.

It was obviously for something else, can they not see that???

I agree it was a black card, just think its a shocking rule. I don't think there is a need for it, as it can be abused. It all came about due to Cavanagh against McManus years ago - but they've put other infractions on it too. And it is not stopping those kind of fouls, a black card for dragging a lad down when he's on goal with a few minutes left on the clock is worth taking. Needs to be changed to a sin bin

Black card does need to change to a sin bin but it isn't a shocking rule and maybe it can be abused but so can all other rules.. It isn't stopping those kind of fouls as refs aren't using the black card enough.

Good 2 see da Meath posters criticising da ref. How's keegan still on da field-fouling constantly & the tipp red card for what?
Mayo looked somewhat clueless-rochford looks to be taking things backwards in my opinion.

By not meeting a Division 1 team along the way one would imagine.

Thank God for HURLING, the Mayo hurlers have All Ireland medals, there isn't a hope the Mayo footballers will have any this year. Borefest.

For Mayo this crap is as good as it is going to get for 2016, awful team in all areas today they were shocking. The only crucial decisions were made by McGoldrick, an awful sending off. Hard luck to Tipp a great run.

Mayo have reached the final without playing their best football, this is a good omen for them. Now the 7 minutes added on? Last week we had a brilliant game with 2 minutes added, where is the fairness? Congrats to Mayo today

Refereeing was very poor in my opinion.

When keegan received his yellow morrisey saying it's very unusual to see keegan involved in fouling......is he joking he's always involved . It takes away from the fact he's so talented. Fairplay to tipp for never giving up its a pity about some of the mistakes they made.

Wouldn't rule Mayo out of winning final with a manager like Rochford.

Well done Tipperary, have scored a lot of goals in this year's Championship and really needed a couple today unfortunately the goals came at the other end.
On today's display you would think the All Ireland winners will come from other semi.

Disappointing loss.
Considering the ref gave out a few black cards and a red and Lee Keegan was still on the pitch was a joke...
Fantastic for Tipp to get to this stage. Hopefully they can build on this and continue to progress to all Ireland quarters/semis.
Promotion in league is a given as they wont go to far if stuck down in div 3

Meh poor game, tipp never really looked like winning it. Mayo fell over the line and were tactically poor. All about winning though!

Hard luck to Tipperary , the score line doesn't reflect how close the game was unfortunately just tired out after 55 minutes or so. Which is to be expected as this was their first game against a 'Top 3' and they coped admirably and without one of their best players who I feel was harshly black carded after 8 minutes

From a Mayo perspective congratulations however unless there is a miracle of Biblical proportions next week, ye will be facing the Blue Behemoth and today's performance just won't cut it at all. Who knows maybe Dublin will have an offday in the final and in fairness ye are the only team who give Jim Gavin and his massive backroom team any concern

Mayo's division 1 class kicked into gear from the goal onwards. Have Tipperary a response?

legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts:4997 - 21/08/2016 16:11:47

Tipperary gave as good a response as they could. They won the 2nd half. They'll learn from the experience and need to be playing higher than Division 3.

Mayo will be happy to have got through. I won't be writing off their All-Ireland chances after today.

Well done tipp. The losses off the panel probably cost us the chance to be closer.
It has been an unbelievable year for tipp football. Mayo had that bit of luck with the goal
I think if quinlivan had got enough ball tipp would've won. I thought for all the hype about diarmuid oconnor...he was extremely poor today and a young 19 year old wing back probably dominated him. I backed mayo for the all Ireland this year but I can't see it now.
