Kilkenny v Waterford

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Waterford should have won that but they blew it, they had the chances to be 5 or 6 points up before Kilkenny got the goal. A few soft frees early in the second half for Kilkenny helped them stay in touch. Kilkenny to win the replay as they always do.

What a game of Hurling. Was willing Waterford on but the cats are never beat. I wonder if Waterford have blown their chance ?

Nothing between the sides and you opt to go defensive thereby inviting KK to come at you? Foolish. Especially when Waterford were doing so well as it was. If it ain't broken don't fix it!

Cracking stuff, hopefully the Deise can repeat today's effort without backing down next time!

Waterford left it behind them and they know it. Refusing to push up in the last few minutes, inviting Kilkenny onto them, mindlessly pucking the ball into empty spaces just to get it out rather than remaining composed and continuing to press. In the last few minutes they just abandoned everything that had put them in a winning position. It was absolute lunacy and has cost them a place in the final. Kilkenny will feel like they got out of jail today and will make sure it doesn't happen the next day.

How many of the 32k are from other counties?

Come the All-Ireland final, the tickets are allocated all around the country. Kilkenny normally only get an allocation of less the 10K. They then have to do some 'horse trading' with some other counties, say Kerry, Mayo or Dublin; give us some/all of your hurling tickets and we'll give you our football tickets. Even then it's near impossible to get a ticket.

Cracking game.
Nobody will give Waterford much of a chance in replay but it can be done as we know only too well.

Just shows defensive game doesn't win a tight match. Waterford hurled this away and Kilkenny don't give you a second chance.
Unlucky Waterford you should be in an all Ireland final now. Expect wholesale changes from Cody again next day.

Why mention the thumbs down if it doesn't bother you?

Fantastic game today really enjoyed it
end to end stuff and great to see Waterford play attacking hurling.
fair play to Kilkenny though kept in it and pounced like the card they are at the right time to earn the draw.

I had a feeling that 3 point lead in the closing minutes was not enough. But I hope Waterford will win the replay.

What's this "Unlucky Waterford you should be in an all Ireland final now"? The score when the ref blows full time is the only one that matters.

I counted ten steps by colin fennelly before he passed the ball for the goal.

I imagine Dubh_ linn is referring to the time his own county beat Kilkenny in a replay in 2013, a fairly reasonable point to make wouldnt you agree?!

Looks like the replay is set for next Saturday evening in Thurles, 6:45pm. Will the Thurles pitch favor Waterford of Kilkenny more? What do people think of playing the game at that time?

It's not that long ago but you'd probably prefer to forget it alright.
2013 LSH semi final replay.
Dublin 1-16 KK 0-16.
Tring any bells?

That's the one Soma.
Cockney probably has wiped that from his memory.;-)

Delighted for Waterford to finally come out and hurl, why oh why did they go back to the sweeper in last ten minutes. Waterford just hurled today and showed what they can do. Have they missed their chance ?
