There isn't a 'big three' anymore. We are lucky to have a big two.

maybe you shouldn't post on here if something as trivial as that makes your blood boil. I've been to enough hurling finals down the years and its my opinion that Kilkenny v Tipp bring out the best of each other and rarely is the game a non contest as it would likely be with other counties. i dont get why my county has anything to do with it either, i know plenty of people at my club who are thinking along the same lines and no doubt across the country. catch a grip would ye!

Well if you think it's trivial to dismiss every other county bar Tipp and KK maybe you need to 'catch yourself on' . Coming from Antrim I'ld imagine you would be sick of hurling snobbery and remarks like Tipp / Cats is the only final worth watching. you seem to take things very personal. if your county was involved in some epic finals with kilkenny and had the same rivalry tipp do with them, then id be saying Galway and Kilkenny is the final id travel to see. but ye dont! and after the muster final i wouldnt deem waterford v tipp worth travelling to either. as for the rest of ireland it doesnt apply because there's only 4 counties left. its not snobbery, its common sense at 70euros a ticket, so wind your neck in.

I'd happily watch a final with either of the two teams who played today; great stuff. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3097 - 07/08/2016 17:23:06 1897469 Link 1 |
Kilkenny and Waterford thank you, to managers players supporters you restore our faith in Gaelic games and healthy manly rivalry None of the cheap gutter behaviour of the 'men' who gave such a shameful display of meanminded pettiness Hopefully Kerry Dubli and Mayo take a leaf out of the book that inspired this after noon's spectacle Somehow I think Tipperary footballers are not as yet contaminated by the 37sowhat (Sligo) - Posts: 752 - 07/08/2016 17:34:13 1897476 Link 1 |
Great game, great effort by Waterford but did they blow it by not pushing up on KK at the very end? Barnowl94 (Galway) - Posts: 3150 - 07/08/2016 17:40:32 1897479 Link 0 |

By the way Saffron I have been at epic games between Galway & Kilkenny and Antrim and Kilkenny for that matter. SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2386 - 07/08/2016 18:08:35 1897506 Link 0 |

2009, 2010 and 2014 finals, three of the best I've ever seen, I was lucky enough to be at two of them. enough said really.

Tipp V KK in 2009 was the best hurling final I've seen, the same teams drawn game in 2014 not far behind but to say they are the only teams you would bother travelling to watch is just wrong. Condorman (Dublin) - Posts: 983 - 07/08/2016 20:31:51 1897597 Link 0 |
well I dont live round the corner from Croke like you so sometimes you have to ask yourself if the journey and cost is likely to be worth it! I've already said previously that of course there could be other match ups that may be good games but for me its hard to beat hurling's greatest rivalry coming head to head, it has proven to be the best contest left in the GAA. why is that so hard for some people to understand??
