The Sky deal yet again

Anyone who can post here should be able too, speed dependant, get a Sky stream to watch games. Get Mobdro if you've an android tablet or phone. I think it'll work on an i-Pad or i-Phone but not certain.

Considering the coverage of GAA is so poor by RTE why would the GAA tie their hands and not renew with SKY? Sky coverage and punditry is much better and more positive than RTE.

RTE only know how to go with the lowest common denominator, Dunphy, Hook, Brolly as they cannot get any 'attention' any other way.

The speed is the issue though. I've used Mobdro at home before to watch Premier League games and it has been ok at best. Coverage will stall, or the stream will drop altogether at times. Now I wouldn't have been all that bothered at the time because it was just some soccer match I only had a passing interest in. But for the likes of a Donegal Dublin match if it was at the same craic it would drive me demented!

Replying To Lockjaw:  "Well I would agree with you somewhat about the entitlement culture. There is a bone-idle and thick element in Irish society who expect everything to be given to them. But in this context, I don't think it's the same thing. The quarter finals of the GAA's flagship championship competition (I include hurling in this) are big matches, regardless of who is involved. And in my opinion, should be broadcast free to air."
Yes they should but RTE didn't purchase them . Your quarrel is with RTE not The GAA or SKY.

Has anyone any experience with the GAA Go app? I know it's only available outside of Ireland but a bit of fiddling with IP settings should get around that.

50% of the country refuse to pay 30 euro a week for water and you want them to pay for GAA matches. Speed of broadband is a big issue for us rural folk. We can get the streaming alright but it ok for soccer when you might have a goal every hour - not really suitable for a Dubs match.

True unfortunately. I'm using a Vodafone dongle which is grand posting here but slow and patchy on Mobdro. I'd stubbornly vex myself restarting it again to watch bits of a match rather than just listen on the radio.

I know rightly I'm gonna have the same problem tomorrow. At least I'll be able to road-test it a bit first with your match against Tyrone!
And the mighty Newcastle's match against Fulham tonight!

I came upon Kodi recently which, with it's attendant add-ons should be able to provide a stream of Sky sports channel which is acceptable. I only have a Vodafone dongle add-on as well and it does fairly well on it.

The Sports Devil add-on for Kodi is one of the best and gives you a large choice.

Cheers! If Mobdro isn't doing the business then I'll check that out.
