'Sensitive' Posters

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

this is interesting and I understand there are definitely some posters that take offence to everything anyway negative.
But there is also some people who comment that don't have a clue about football and just listen to half truths told by Spillane and Brolly.

Take Kerry. People comment about some of their All Ireland's being easy. Sure that is true. If you win 37 All Ireland's (?) then some are bound to be easier routes. Not worthy of Arguing.

Take Donegal. People on about Defensive tactics. Nobody can say otherwise but some will defend them to a hilt. Not Worthy of Arguing.

Donegal. Spillane on about old legs. Donegal have a much younger teams than Kerry with the best young players we have ever had coming through. I will argue this all day.

Dublin. Dubs defend against their overpowering money which isnt correct but I understand why they do. Other counties get money and blow it while Dublin have put a structure together to get the most out of that money. So I see why they defend it but dont like when they pretend that even without money Dublin would still be the same team.

The money thing and Dublin is absolute bs , I've no problem saying we've advantage's with population and playing in Croker but the money thing is a new thing thrown at us the last few years and it's bs.

Have you heard any of the Radio Kerry phone in's post 2011 final. I'd say Joe would never be let set foot in Kerry for his holidays, they still blame him for that loss"
that's my point. .

God forbid you tell a Dub that correct refereeing would have seen them lose that 2011 final

Sensitive posters or counties? Seems it is branching away from the thread at hand.

I notice some threads that attract the same posters all the time, which means they have some major gripe about it. The topics that usually bring them out are:

Overly defensive tactics.
Easy routes to all Ireland finals.
Funding/sponsorship.
Cynical tactics.
Appealing bans.

Lose it or draw?
I'd be guessing if you said that to a Dub they'd just shrug it off and say you're a begrudger for believing the referee won them the All-Ireland, no sensitivity about it
As far as dubious refereeing decisions go that's hardly the worst

Now if you said Martin Sludden to a Louth man........

Totally off topic here but is Niall Sludden the Tyrone player related to Martin Sludden ?, hearing the name has some Meath people wondering whether to adopt Tyrone as their second team this year!

Cant say. Depends on the person. I say no 2 posters are the same despite being from the same county. I'd be as much inclined to agree with someone from cork over the next town down depending on what they said

Think Sludden is a common enough name in those parts. I can bet every viewer is wondering the same thing.

Dublin fans on here are embarrassingly sensitive.

The amount of times they post replies to threads on finances and advantages is mental. We aren't going to change peoples opinions on us so leave them to it.

Proper bugs me that the vast majority of HS contributors nowadays are wums, or are just totally unable to take off the tinted glasses.

Its okay to be impartial and call it as you see it. Doesn't make you any more or less a fan of your county for being honest.

Aye Dublin; like bad eczema; so sensitive and in denial that you would need to bathe them in emollients, slap steroid cream all over them and cover them in bandages.

I think all GAA fans are sensitive to criticism of their own County, well some more sensitive than others.

In fairness Wayno before Dublin started collecting All Itelands you used to get quiet emotional and sensitive. Now you can be flippent about the whole thing

Some.

Most will still rant and rave back.

For example, Ulsterman gets a rise out of Dublin fans on here, the vast majority.

People on here should realise what he is about by now and laugh it off.

I still cant believe to this day he gets so many dubs taking the bait.

As far as I am aware he's a nephew. Niall Sludden is a Dromore man as was Martin sludden. If Ruairi is his brother then im 99% certain that the two of them are related.

I have to say if they are related I hope Niall doesn't get tarred with the same brush that that ref was - I heard that he took a lot of abuse in his home county and rightly so. All refs make mistakes but the arrogance of him that day was an absolute disgrace - Niall doing good job of redeeming the family name no doubt.
