Let it go. Don't let it eat you up, just let it go. Now take a deep breath. Bet you feel better already!

Haha lad. Sorry but blues ignorance has really got under my skin. He doesn't do the thick Cavan man perception any favours.

What perception is that Gotmilk? Think you need to get over yourself at this stage, maybe just discuss it with all the intellectuals on the Fermanagh board.

Replying To ponger:  "Initially at the game i though the referee was harsh on Cavan and gave Tyrone a few softies. After watching it again he wasn't the worst and there were cases for both teams.

Regarding the goal, not one Tyrone player complained. They only had their heads in their hands as the knew they'd get a right bollocking from Mickey for conceding 3 goals.

There is no doubt Tyrone were the better team overall, but Cavan dominated for periods and got around them. McKiernan and Johnstone hadn't great games being double marked and i suppose the same goes for Sean Cavanagh. Others stood up and we are more than a two man show...."
Good points Ponger - dubious goals but Cavan got the luck and Tyrone would happily have taken any luck their way also. Its interesting the point about Seanie J and G McKearnan not having good games for Cavan but then again a number of Tyrones players either did not play well all day Sean C, Mark Bradley in particular and some only played in patches Peter Harte, McAlliskey, O'Neill, Sludden, McShane, R Donnelly. I think Cavan played really well but also think Tyrone will have learned the most and have the most to improve. Whats shocking though is Tyrones inability to score frees outside 30 meters which will kill them in tight games. I also believe wet conditions affects their fast transition game - so guess Cavan will pray to the rain gods.

Ah now Dell, no need to start this tit-for-tat nonsense.

Ah Ulsterman I think you are being unnecessarily dire with that prediction. This is a better Tyrone team this year than the one that played Kerry in last years semi final. They had an off day yesterday, especially in regard to the 3 goals conceded and that will never happen the next day out. Cavan did expose a weakness in the full back line but I expect a few tweaks will rectify that the next day out. We are usually better in the replay stakes. You'll see:)

A very enjoyable game of football in wet conditions. A draw was a fair result on the day. Tyrone blew at least one chance at the end and some of their younger players showed lack of experience when shooting instead of passing. I thought the Ref was very good and is the best in the country. On the goal/square I would have given the goal- even with camera it was difficult to agree and that can be seen by the many posts also. What the analysts on the Sunday game thought is irrelevant as their analysis is no better than the average supporter as they miss many relevant debating points.

Well DellBoy i was sick of the Tyrone "smart-asses" and "know it all's" for the whole game where I was sitting. Mouthing about getting to another Ulster final, all-irelands, choice words etc...When the third goal went in, they got their dues from me. Then again i just call that banter...

So some of your buddies just balanced the books...

Replying To Ulsterman:  "Up to this game I thought Tyrone really were in with a chance of challenging for SAM but they won't come near it now. Cavan are a decent side, nothing more, but when they ran at Tyrone through the middle they opened them up like a tin of tuna. When they pumped long high balls in Tyrone also struggled badly and were all over the place so just think what Dublin and Kerry would do to them. Tyrone have always been prone to fast players running through their middle and half back line and Cavan really exposed that. So it looks like a shoot out once again between Dublin and Kerry with Dublin winning by 15 points."
Palm Sunday and Good Friday are 5 days apart.
Never as good as you're built up to be, never as bad as you're slated to be.

All of our great attacking players had off days, we conceded 3 goals.

I mean I'm confident that won't happen again this year

Is there anything to be said for saying another mass ?

Square ball or no square ball, the goal was given. The result stands and we go to a replay to add to the GAA coffers. Poor aul minors had to play additional time but not the seniors.

Both sides had missed chances, both had good spells and both had luck.

Anyway, we can back bite, analysis and reanalyse all we like, it won't matter. What is done is done and we do it all again on the 3rd.

BTW, personally, I thought Tyrone were the better team but we didn't give up.

For next year, you should offer your services as an umpire, as I doubt either umpire had a chance to check if Givney was in the square as it all happened in a split second. They didn't see the one that was a foot across the line in the first half and fair dues to the ref, he followed up.

As brolly says, the umpires in the modern game are as useful as a chocolate tea pot

umpires did call the goal it's obvious on the video that the umpire on the left clearly speaking into the microphone on his collar to inform the referee that a goal was scored. Gough then moves in an consults with the two umpires and awards the goal. Excellent refereeing with the help of his umpires.

Don't know why people are disputing the goals to be honest, Cavan struck them well - the third I thought was incredibly well worked and tricky - Tyrone were expecting the hail mary in but Mackay (correct me if wrong) played in a wonderful little dinked pass that seemed to catch maybe 4/5 Tyrone players cold and by time everyone copped on the ball was in the back of the net. I wouldn't blame Mickey O'Neill at all, to me - the ball should never be allowed to get in that close in the dying moments, but again - credit to Cavan for that.

I thought at 3 points up into injury time Tyrone should "have seen it out"...by that we all know what I mean. Tyrone can't complain one bit - you can't ship 3 goals in any game and be anything but thankful you are still in the tie.

I do think Tyrone will see them out second time of asking and you'll probably see Justin/Joe McMahon or one of the taller defenders come back in for that one as the secret is out, Tyrone aren't equipped to deal with the long pass in.

Great game in poor conditions though - Did Tyrone take Cavan a bit lightly? Certainly looked like it in the first 20 minutes. Cavan look like a team on the edge of making that mental breakthrough...but they'll have to do it the hard way in a fortnights time.
