To be fair to Cavan Ziggy they scored Cavan 2-17 which would win most game...but there defence was rotten !

In fairness they scored 2-6 or so when Tyrone had emptied their bench and playing clock down without Colm C their sweeper - in fact if Tyrone had have scored 7 goals today it wouldn't have been a shock - they also never laid a hand on the Cavan forwards in last 15 mins. Mickey H will hate they conceded this amount and he will also be frustrated that they still can't score frees which may well hurt them in the tighter games later this summer.

Another horrible puke-fest from our primitive friends in Ulster. Ulster football is ugly and the sooner it can be banned altogether the better; let's split the GAA like the soccer. 'Catch, shut your eyes and lump it up the field' is the way of the gods. 1970s Expert.

Very good tongue in cheek - 7-35 scored today - I hate puke football

Watching the match on deferred coverage. Have to say ref was very easy on cavan so far, a lot of fouls have went unpunished so far.

Agree with you and it seems to be easier for Tyrone than the radio coverage suggested - not that it was a tight game on the radio.

Just seen the penalty incident with Sean. Was a clear penalty as he was shoulder while taking a shot which is a foul.

It was over and very hot weather wise in Clones with 10 minutes to go. The pace had been frantic and Mickie Harte started taking off those who were starting to show injury. Any scores in the last few minutes were of the consultation type. It was over.

Disappointed is an understatement!

There's good and bad in the reason we lost:

The bad is that there were 2 or 3 players who should never have been started and that Hyland waited until the game was over before hauling them off.

The good (if there is any) is that it wasn't a systematic collapse from the entire Cavan team, some good performers were badly let down by a select few who were so so poor.

I won't name them on here as now isn't the time to stick the boot in, but how Hyland deals with these few players will decide his future as Cavan manager - I would drop them permanently as this was coming!

Maybe the good wins from Kerry, Donegal and Tyrone will quiet down the fatalists who believe the football championship is a one horse race - although I would put the 2 Ulster teams ahead of Kerry - there's no way they could live with Donegals physicality or Tyrones skill and speed.

Both Dublin or Kerry will be up against it in the QF if they draw the loser of Donegal/Tyrone!

STILL not a peep anywhere of Kerry's brutal cynicism in the first half today. Joe Brolly mentioned it at half time, in fact he backed it up with footage, but he was looked at in horror by Michael Lyster and Colm O'Rourke; did he not know that criticism is ONLY for the mad Ulster hordes? Why hasn't Brolly got the message that Kerry and Dublin are God like figures and are not allowed to receive negative words. Furthermore if you try to point out this hypocrisy anywhere it doesn't get posted. Hypocrisy and double standards....how are you?

Ref was fine today......2 penalty calls were tight, Mossy Corr I think before half time and Sean Cav after half time. Didn't give to either team so fair enough.
It seems like a default amongst supporters these days too criticize refs. If you think you can do better go and learn to become a ref......there is a massive shortage in Tyrone and are crying out for refs. County board has highlighted it in many match programmes.

Don't think I have written them off - I've just stated they are in top 4 - but they've played no one yet whereby the Ulster teams have and Donegal and Tyrone still to play. Kerry to me have some great forwards but their defence is old and will be found out if they don't get proper tests - they are now in quarters with some big fish in qualifiers - they may be caught cold.

Donegal tried to bully us physically in Tralee and failed very badly. I'd still give us the edge over them although in reality it'd be a toss-up game.

Tyrone extremely impressive today from the sounds of it and you are right they are a bad matchup for us based on their speed however I'd still give us a fighting chance if we met them.

In reality all 3 are p1ng against the wind when it comes to competing with the mighty Blue Juggernaut unless the 3 teams put out a combined team.

Why is it that everyone seems to think that refs are above criticism? It was clear on TV that a number of fouls went unpunished. Blinding saying "be a ref yourself" doesn't do any good. In fact it does harm.

Refeering standards vary massively throughout. Put yourself in a players shoe for a moment...training all year and then it could come down to a silly call ending your season for another year. Bet you don't think about that
