RD not sure what you have been watching in the league-agree with Roger. Tyrone beat a very poor Derry team which appeared clueless. Tyrone as with all Ulster teams have difficulty beating Connaught teams in the championship. Tyrone may not win Ulster but the are probably the team with the best chance of beating Dublin in the wide spaces of CP and I would not wager against them. Kerry were very lucky last year to beat them with dubious ref decisions. Dublin are worthy favourites. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 24/05/2016 08:55:36 1857993 Link 0 |
We won't know how good Tyrone are until they take out one of the big gun's in Croke Park. Kerry and Mayo are still the ones behind Dublin. Tyrone do seem to be moving again in the right direction though....they won the u-21 last year and have a great setup in the county so it's only a matter of time before they come again. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11236 - 24/05/2016 09:02:48 1857994 Link 0 |

It is interesting to see how the narrative of who the best teams are swings back and over. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 24/05/2016 09:44:10 1858004 Link 2 |
After Tyrones peformence yesterday they seem to be he only team in Ireland that are able to beat Dublin they play amazing blanket defence which are words you will never think anybody will say because it is so boring, but they play very fast and exiciting in defence. And in attacking play it was lovely to watch there speed and movement is brilliant. they have a lot of star players. If its not Tyrone its either Mayo or Galway but Tyrone are far far better team . Kerry are no longer contenders , Superglue (Kerry) - Posts: 1283 - 24/05/2016 09:45:01 1858005 Link 1 |
Kerry are no longer contenders, takes for the head's up lad. I've just after texting Eamon and the boys to let them know they've the summer off! #Derry4Sam ;) TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 24/05/2016 09:57:00 1858009 Link 1 |
Tyrone,Mayo,Kerry,Donegal,Cork all COULD beat Dublin on their day. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 24/05/2016 10:00:26 1858011 Link 0 |
Unless Cavan/Armagh can upset Tyrone with a couple of ambush type goals then I don't see how either can beat them. Tyrone will be in the Ulster final and for me, their first real test of the year will be in dealing with what team they encounter. If they can land Ulster it would be a major boost to them and I can see them making the AI semi final at least. The popular consensus is that they'd meet Mayo in such a scenario. I think they're a bit off Mayo just yet. Mayo have a very good record against Tyrone and I'd fancy them to beat them again in a very tight battle. Ziggy, are you saying there is nobody in Leinster who COULD beat Dublin? cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5017 - 24/05/2016 10:33:20 1858026 Link 0 |
Don't know what you are getting at Clondalkin Cork have beaten us numerous times over the last 5/6 years KYTitletown (Kerry) - Posts: 816 - 24/05/2016 10:39:23 1858028 Link 1 |
Given that it's so early in the year and that Derry were a defensive shambles I think that's a seriously misguided statement

Forgot to add in my post that I would never write Kerry off either. Thought though that they side-line did not help them much last year and I would pay little attention to the league result. Mayo of course are capable of beating anyone on their day judging by last year but not sure what they new management will bring to the table this year. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 24/05/2016 11:42:15 1858061 Link 0 |
"Monaghan are the only team that might stop them in Ulster" Think I'm right in saying that in all of Mickey Harte's tenure Tyrone have only managed to beat Donegal once in Championship football so if we do make it to an Ulster final against the Redhands they'll get nothing easy from us.
