Paul Flynn

Declan o'sullivan also won 3 all stars in a row iirc and was in the same class as the players above. He had it all and contributed big scores in big games.

Flynn was brilliant but I don't agree he was the best player in the country.

Yes three great wing forwards but if i had to choose one i'd opt for Paul Flynn. As Ckd said, the man had it all.Same selfless workrate as the Dooher and Galvin but i think he had more going forward and id like to see their scoring stats in their best years.Flynn was always good for 2-4 points and could chip in with a goal every now and then. His powers are definately on the wane.Mileage, injury and wear & tear have had an adverse affect on him but he's still a valuable member of our team.Think he has 3 All Stars and fingers crossed he will have his 4th All Ireland medal on the mantlepiece come Saturday night.

I'd have picked Brian dooher my self, he was some operator. Flynn was an animal for 4/5 years and I'd pick him second and Galvin 3rd could bring great heat and passion to a game but Galvin played for Galvin not so much for his county. He cost us an allireland as well in 2010."
This is a great post!

Galvin obviously had more talent than Dooher but Dooher would put his face where most lads wouldn't put a shovel

Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard

Yeah maybe it's that, maybe it's the fact that Dublin have become a more dominant team the less pivotal the man has become.

Maybe it's the fact that one match (Donegal 2014) seemed to end the prime of his career despite him being 27-28 at the time, the more focus put on Dooher and Galvin by their teams the more they shone and the teams shone, Jim Gavin decided that the best way for Dublin to play was to take the focus off Flynn...hardly a positive for him

Declan O Sullivan is the forgotten man of that 2000's Kerry team it seems

He was just a phenomenal talent, great leader, box to box defender and a man to turn to for a score in times of need.

When some players were having bad days in the 2005 and 2008 final O Sullivan was always driving the team on, sometimes single handedly at that!

I took it we were debating wing forwards seanie.Declan O Sullivan was my favourite Kerry player of that era but i think he did most of his best work from centre forward.

He's far from forgotten and only Dooher of the 3 mentioned comes close to him.

But he was a centre forward and they were wing forward so he's not part of this discussion.

Ohh yeah lads I don't think he can be in the same category as Flynn, Dooher and Galvin.

I get a bit carried away when I hear someone talking about O Sullivan because as I said I feel he never gets enough credit, I love a competitor and I don't think there was a better one on that Kerry team...possibly Darragh O Sea.

I'm definitely not the most focused poster at times

What about Donnellan? More talented than those 3 imo. Dooher would still be my number one of those mentioned and would have had tougher provincial games than the others. If it was players you wanted in the trenches Dooher would be number one Flynn would be probably be bottom of the pile. His best work was done in Leinster when Dublin were dominating teams. There are a lot of situations where he went missing in big games. Where did he go after kicking the 4 early points against Donegal? Dublin have carried him for two years now.
