Division 1 Football - who will be relegated?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think Down have to be favorites for the drop but im sure they will take important points of somebody before its over . I think Kerry had 0 points at this stage last year (could be wrong here) and as the league progresses kerry will come into themselves and secure division 1 with a possible semi final . The big game will be Mayo v Roscommon with the loser being in big trouble .
I reckon Down will be relagated and it will be a 2\3 way tie between mayo roscommon and Possibly Monaghan to join them in divison 2 neat year

It will be Down and either Mayo or Kerry. Probably Mayo.

Down showed well against Monaghan in Clones, where Monaghan are generally fairly difficult to beat. If they get a few players back, they could churn out a few results in the remaining 5 games. Like Down could possibly beat Cork, Kerry, Roscommon or Mayo, its not totally beyond them to win 3 of those games.

I suppose the probability of that happening will start to decline as Kerry and Mayo begin to get stronger, but Its not beyond the realm of possibility. Roscommon did well against a slightly weakened Kerry, but could well struggle against the remaining sides. With Cork, Dublin, Donegal, Mayo and Down remaining, they could struggle to pick up more than 2 points.

Would be like a championship game in the Hyde if that were to happen however i'd be surprised if Mayo don't start picking up points after the break and stay clear of relegation.

Hard to See Down staying up...I think Mayo will get points from the Rossies and Down and be Safe...Kerry will also pick up 4 points Will Roscommon pick up another 2??
Down is their best bet so it could come down to score difference.....Donegal will finish behind Dublin with Cork and monaghan finishing on 5/6/7 points.....

Since Fitzmaurice took over, Kerry had been dangling near relegation, this year could be it. Having said that Kerry has Down, think we could win this unless like the Rossies, they smell blood, Mayo in Castlebar-will be tough and a must win for both teams as we are both at zero now, Monaghan away (Kerry should be stronger and fitter by then) a needed win, Cork in Kerry.. They seem to have one over us in the league . Donegal in Kerry..I think Donegal here.

So Down and Kerry the most likely to be relegated with Kerry at 4 then later in the year Kerry to win Sam :-)

Down and Kerry/Mayo

Roscommon wont as I can see us picking up points against everyone bar the dubs and maybe Donegal. Once we get all our injured players back this little break will do us the world of good. Don't forget we should have beaten Monaghan who had basically there full strength side. That Roscommon team only had 8 of our first 15. We beat a poor Kerry side without 7 of our first 15
