Kerry- sore losers

You know well if we held our positions instead of all out attack we'd destroy Donegal, basically to beat Donegal you have to play the exact same way as them surely you know this after losing a final in '12 doing exactly what we did in'14?

Well I dont actually, that is just your assumption. The point is it doesnt hurt to be a good winner/loser. You lads want to be the best when you win and the best when you lose also. It comes across like you look down your nose at other counties. It mightnt hurt to remeber from time to time that pound for pound, every top tier team is completely outperforming you.

This is kind of a nonsensical debate. Of course Dublin are worthy champions. First of all Dublin won the final very comprehensively. They also were comprehensively the best team against Mayo in both semi-final games. This means they beat their 2 main rivals for the championship in winning it, again very good way to win.
But Kerry are looking at the final from their point of view in what went wrong for them, I don't see anything wrong with this, this is what every team does after a loss. They are looking at it and saying we were beaten but we are not as far away from the top as it now seems.
The point about the Mayo games standing to Dublin is an obvious one. A good team that beats another good team in a semi-final in a match which tests them will usually be the better for it in the final (in most sports) and a 2 week break from semi-final to final then was ideal.
I also think Kerry over the years have never been particularly bad losers, certainly to the extent that they make a big issue about it in national media. Actually I think they complain less than others after a loss in big games. A case in point was the 2011 All Ireland final. In that game for most of it Kerry were far better but the referee kept Dublin in the game with many soft frees. Then at the end Dublin got a free to win it with last kick of the game for nothing. Had this been any other county the complaints would have been huge and would have been talked about a lot more (also at this time as it was Dublin's first win in 16 years so most were very happy to ignore what the referee did). At that time I never heard Kerry complain publically which I found amazing and which reflected very well on Kerry.
Rather than complain Kerry tend to look at their losses, learn from them and improve. Over the years they have been by far the most consistent county in football because of this.

This thread is a good laugh.

You can tell us Dubs are still hurting from 2014 despite this years win. And seeing Kerry saunter home last year on one wheel was galling.
We know we need to capitilise with this great team, the 16 barren years still haunt us but we now have the best team in the country hands down and the hunger is still there.

Somebody said Kerry weren't in transition. Well if they're not they should be. If they believe all they need is a tweeking they'll be in for a shock - just like in 2013 after they thought they were the better team in 2011. I'm a passionate Dubs fan of course, but I don't believe a single kerry player would get on the Dublin team now, not even the great JOD.... as dub defender said recently "he has no shoulders"

It is starting already, the Dubs are getting carried away with themselves. Odds on for 'no shoulders' to put Dublin to the sword next year, and then the whinging will start again in earnest. but when it does, do us a favour, keep the threads to the Dublin page

Haha TheMaster, getting carried away? If you haven't noticed we're there! We're in the promised land! We've won everything there is to win in 2015... we're at the arse end of the year and we still have to celebrate FOTY plus a bag full of all stars to come!

See you in castlebar my friend hahaha

The OP is nonsense. I live in Kerry and the VAST majority have had no issue with the result. The general consensus is that the current Dublin team are much better than Kerry's. Kerry have great respect for Dublin, probably moreso than anyone else.

Superglue. There are none so blind as those who will not see, that Dublin were the better side on the day.
Kerry always seem to blame the opposition when they lose, never that they were not just good enough on the day. Dublin did not get a soft All Ireland, they deserved to win.

Everybody from every county should except their defeats without having to whine about different factors as to why they lost. Suck it up and move on. We weren't good enough in 2014 or 2012 etc etc but to say we didn't deserve to win this year is just plain silly and shows that ye can't take your beatings fair and square.

Yeah carried away...

It doesn't matter about this forum and excuse us for enjoying ourselves as fans..

The players are far far beyond this sort of trivial nonsense anyway

Proven winners, time and time again.. they are in a different plain now compared to any Dublin team that came before

Even the team of the 70's...

They have their heads screwed on and have that defensive edge now to balance it all out

Going to be very difficult to beat next year.. and sure even if they win back to backs

We'll have you on here trying to belittle it...

Up the mighty all conquering Dubs 2015

:)

Maybe the question is, are Dublin bad winners?
Kerry have lost a lot of finals but I have never seen the kind of vitriol that is on view this year. I don't understand it, you won, why are you so angry?
Why do you care so much about the team you beat?
The jist of the Dublin support on here is that Kerry are useless, stole an All-Ireland last year and will never beat Dublin again. Fair enough but why do you care so much about Kerry. I thought that these last few days after an All-Ireland before pre- season training starts should be about celebration and enjoyment looking back over the games played this year and basking in the glow. For me anyway if we won a final then the last thing coming into my head would be the opposition.

Good post. But you see when Jack O Connor makes a comment about the rain not suiting Kerry or the obvious that a 4 week break didnt help us then some dubs seem to think that makes us bad losers but Jack was just stating the obvious.

Everyone I have spoken to down here agree Dublin were the better team and fully deserved there win.

As you said no point in complaining about 2011 at the time..sometimes you get the ref calls and sometimes you dont but you have to take those decisions on the chin and move on. It was to be expected really with Dublin not in the final for so many years.

It wasn't the ref that cost ye that day, it was a couple of tired/poor passes and the more alert team took complete advantage.

KERRY kILLERS

Im not going to go over 2011 again as it was over four years ago.

The ref made a some dubious calls on the day but as I said some days you get the calls and some days you dont. Just like some decisions we got in our semi against Mayo last year.

Whichever team wins the all Ireland gets some fortune along the way and whichever team comes out on top like Dublin in 2011 deserve it most of the time.
