ok a couple of points here. Abuse has no place in any thing in life much less sport. ritchie (Cork) - Posts: 346 - 15/07/2015 15:27:05 1753878 Link 0 |
First any abuse of an individual is wrong, be it verbal, online or whatever. But, people are rather naive, they have Twitter/Facebook accounts etc all with open access etc probably revealing personal details etc. Incidently I did a search on google just for my daughters full name and what I got back was quite shocking, phone numbers (land/mobile) email, twitter etc accounts, a picture (from one of her profile pics), an address, school, friends, clubs etc etc etc Just typed her first name. My long winded point is people need to be more careful, if you are a ref, player/performer your asking for trouble not taking simple precautions. I don't believe the perpetrators believe its personal but honestly at this stage if you don't try and protect yourself and you have a public profile you are liable to attract nutcases - plenty of them out there. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 15/07/2015 18:01:28 1753976 Link 0 |
