Kerry V Cork

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think we are well past the stage of seeing Cork putting it up to Kerry. I have been expecting big things from Cork over the past 3 years but they just don't turn up for the big championship games. Kerry to win with something in hand.

Cork managed to stay in Divsion 1. That was the main objective really under this management - about as much as we can realistically hope for. For Sunday I am just hoping we don't get embarrassed so the confidence isn't completely gone. Win or lose (I am not worried either way) we will definitely be in the quarter final as we are miles better than any of the other teams that are left in the qualifiers. Once we are in the quarters we will in turn meet a team that are miles better than us and we will get hammered. The craic will be good in the pubs and hopefully the weather will be nice!

From what I know, Cork have alot of the team back that won the All-Ireland 2 years ago.

Ya Kerry are definitely worth a flutter. They beat a very well fancied Tipperary side there in the curtain raiser to the senior game a few weeks ago. The team contains a good mix of minors and U-21's so I'd be hopeful of a Kerry win tomorrow.

In response to the Mayohurling man complaining about the munster championship, id much rather be playing Galway and Sligo in comparison with Tipp and Cork. Them matches would be shooting practice for the Kerry forwards. Easiest province in the country at the moment even worse then leinster.
Much easier run for Mayo..nonsense to say Munster championship is more boring then Connaught.

How exactly do you make that out? Sligo and Tipp are at a very similar standard; indeed, they finished one position apart in Division Three this year. Kerry didn't exactly blitz Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-final last year, ditto for Mayo against Cork. IMO the challenges are similar enough; there are as many Division One sides in Connacht as Munster now.

if can get without 10 points of kerry i be happy. Missing Ian Maguire., John O'Rourke. No presence around the middle without Aidan Walsh

You're not fooling anyone Highhunt, Cork have too much at stake, they need a big performance their season and reputation now depends on it.

Cork will throw everything at Kerry on Sunday and come 70 minutes they will only be a kick of the ball between them.

Just my opinion that id rather be playing Galway and Sligo then Tipp and Cork. I was responding to a point made by your countyman saying the Munster championship was boring as i feel its more competitive then Connaught at the moment. However i feel most Kerry fans are happy to have a tough game against Cork to prepare the team for the backdoor or the last eight. Im not sure how prepared Mayo will be after beating Sligo by 9 or 10 points in a few weeks.

Yes Galway did play well in spells against us last year but i never felt in danger of losing the game, they are improving but still a long way from the standard of the top four teams in the country.

He was distracted by hurling last year

Players are not behind manager and it showing on pitch. We no corner backs and midfield to cope with kerry. Despite our domination at 21 level over kerry over last 10 years we failed have translate to senior stage. We no starting to struggle in hurling too.

According to the Irish Times, Paul Galvin won't be appearing for Kerry on Sunday. That's a shame dying to see if he still has a bit left in the tank even if it is just 10-15min in a game.
