Not a hope Jimbodub , good news is boring , Ive observed how they start out with 80 reads and disappear into oblivion , this site unfortunatley at moment is as bouyant as a graveyard .
Lets hate Ulster
Lets hate RTE
Split Dublin
Players should be professional
Tyrone started it .
Armagh started it .
Kerry and Kilkenny have allways been at it .
Mayo ah Mayo poor things mentally weak
Violence in Wicklow
Any of the above can be rephrased and rehased and will be commented on as if its news .
Im trying my best to stay positive going into championship , looking forward to a double bill in two weeks , but this site at the moment as Pacino says " they keep pulling me back in "
Best thing in recent weeks attending u14 s peile , games the wsy they should be and not a sledge to be heard .
Best of luck trying to get responses with this one Jimbo .

How about if nobody bothered posting when these threads are started.
Maybe I'm being naive.

On a more positive note , its payday tomorrow.

All giving put aside I'm incredibly excited about this coming year. Apprehensive but still excited. I can't see us doing anything in football but I'm hopeful of a long summer with either the 21 or senior hurlers l. Maybe both :-) things are extremely quiet here. There isn't a peep coming out of the hurling camp which in my memory has always been a good thing. The last time it was this quiet was 2004. Nobody expecting anything and we went and beat Kilkenny

Lads i dont see all the negativity myself. If a thread starts off with a wind up,abuse or insult i dont continue reading it.This is my favourite time of year. The next 3 1/2 months of action, both football and hurling in equal measure,i look forward to every year.Have done since i was a young lad. Will do till i cant no more.Last Sunday was a good start.Clare v Limerick will be the same this Sunday.Cavan v Monaghan too.Even looking forward to see can Laois beat Westmeath in the hurling Sunday. There are plenty good, decent posters on here who i enjoy reading.Newspapers,radio,tv.Its all good. The Sunday Game-live and the highlights show-i enjoy both.None of the pundits turn me off either. My life would be a much emptier place were it not for the GAA.Even though im not involved in a club anymore,it gives me lots of genuine pleasure and keeps boredom at bay.Weve a lot to be proud of lads. The doomsayers cannot and will never change that for me.

The Louth Juniors beat the Cavan Juniors last night. Cavan were the All Ireland champions. So that will keep me happy for a wee while. Up the Wee County!

Here in Chicago, we're getting ready for championship season again. Looking forward to taking a few trips down to Gaelic Park down south where I can have tayto, lucozade and the best pint of Guinness west of the Atlantic. Good fun mixing with the Irish Americans who have a great day out. And the kids play GAA on the pitch at half time just like Mullingar used to be :-)

I'll give this a go and see where I get. Not sure if its particularly good news but it sums up a lot for me anyway.....

On Saturday I'm going to go see Munster play in Thomond park. looking forward to it and expecting a good game of rugby, but to be honest would lose no sleep if Munster lost 50 nil.
On Sunday going to see Limerick play Clare in the first round of the Munster hurling championship. I'll be the first one to admit I don't have much of an interest in football, despite the fact that I'm married to a Kerry woman, its a game that never caught my imagination. I can appreciate its qualities but its much like my interaction with Munster rugby. No emotional connection...
But Hurling, some of my earliest memories are being thrown into the back of the car for the annual trip to Cork or Thurles for Munster hurling matches.......
Usually to see Limerick beaten, but occasionally very occasionally a win or even better an actual provincial title. God above those days were magnificent, probably because they were so rare. I've been to four All Ireland finals, 80,(hadn't a clue what was going on but knew it was bad at the end) 94,96 and 2007 and four separate semi finals,81, 09, 2013 and 2014..
8 games which my county have all lost. Heartbreakingly so in some cases, an unmerciful hammering once. But every year I still come back for more, Why? Because I love hurling with a passion, I think its the greatest game in the world, unsurpassed for speed, skill and excitement.
I may never actually see limerick win an AI title, hope to but considering the litany of misery attached to supporting the Limerick senior hurler the odds are stacked against it.
My brother is flying in from England for this game, he's the same as me , sick and tired of it but going all the same, the other guy in Dublin is travelling down. We'll all meet up for the first time since Christmas and win lose or draw that game on Sunday means something intangible and hugely personal. its what makes the GAA so special, cos for every Dublin and Kerry in football, Kilkenny and Cork in hurling, there are the likes of Louth, Mayo, Leitrim, Carlow, Waterford and limerick out there. People who love football and hurling for no good reason other than its part of the DNA. So that's why I'm going to see limerick play Clare on Sunday and even with the back door i'll be sickened if we lose, cos it means so much to see my county win...this is what makes the GAA great.

the fantastic experience of Munster championship hurling with a trip every couple of years to Croke park thrown in for good measure!!!! Love or hate the GAA its part of who we are. COYBIG

All across the country, in every town and village, there are many great people training and coaching kids for the love of the game every evening of the week. The GAA is still the greatest sports organisation on the island and one of the best amateur sports organisations in the world, it is only a small number at the top of the game who are poisoning it. And that is why they should be told where to go by anyone with a love of our games and culture.

Best news of the lot is that we are all alive & well, able to go to games, debate the issues & get annoyed over nothing.

The day will come for us all when this will not be the case.

Peace & love to everyone.

Good news? Even though the sun is failing to shine yet we in the west have 1 thing we are happy about, no midges yet, those buggers are us alive every summer when the sun shines and the wind calms down, if the eastern half of the country want to experience them take a holiday down the west coast from Donegal to west Cork, anywhere you find Boland or forestry you will find midges

Good news, the donegal minors were brilliant on sunday, and play very stylish football. I was very glad to go early and watch both games.
Good news, the facilities in Ballybofey were in top nick. Toilets included.
Better news. Monaghan and Cavan are playing on sunday. There will be a kick of a ball in it.

It's Friday. It's Payday. The wife is heading south of the border with the weans for the weekend. Beer festival tomorrow afternoon in the Titanic Drawing Rooms - 23 on tap, 3 bottled, 6 ciders and a selection of 5 beer cocktails (mostly Irish craft breweries with a couple of English ones). What's not to be positive about.
