reading the other anti rugby anti rte thread youd think rte never showed gaa !! all jokes aside its a fine programme with a totally iconic and uplifting theme tune - always love when limeirck win the buzz of looking forward to watching the sunday game

Few suggestions for improvement though
- bit less talk and bit more action - i.e. should all games in highlights format and not in report only (there are cases there the main game will have highlights whereas a leinster SFC first round or Munster SFC semi onlygets a few mins report)
- be great if it started earlier to cover leinster hurling qualifer imagine the thrill for westmeath players staff and fans to come see their team last sunday get the full sunday game treatment
- also include a round up of ring rackard and meagher cups as well

So again 7 of the 8 Ulster Championship games being televised with the one not being shown Live being the fixture involving...... yep, you've guessed it, the 1/4 Final fixture involving ourselves and Donegal. Seems the unwritten rule (or maybe it is written down somewhere) is that you are forbidden from televising Antrims opening game in any years Ulster Championship. Not just RTÉ as the good old Beeb seem to follow the same rule book. Can someone please think of the children!!!!

They are thinking of them. That's why it's only highlights that are shown after the watershed. No horrors allowed before 9pm.

Not forgetting TG4 too offside, they also have a phobia regarding Antrim.

Speaking of the children, on a serious note, it might also help raise the profile of our county teams within Antrim and Belfast in particular if those that decide the schedules managed to somehow take that into consideration too.
I suppose though maybe im expecting too much from the rugby men at the helm in both rte and 'good ole auntie'

Now now, some of the best games in recent years in Ulster have involved Antrim but wouldn't expect anyone to know that as, yep, they aren't televised. Its racism....

I try where possible to get in person to them bumper though admittedly over the last number of years with more people in my life to consider beyond myself I don't get to as many games as I would like when it comes to the County - use up my GAA tokens during the week with Club games. But I can't only think of few times in my lifetime where we had a day on TV during the Championship. If you take away 2009 (when it would have been strange for them not to show us at some point given we made the Final) you are down to a couple of times in the last 30 odd years.

Antrim's continual absence from the Sunday Game schedule is a disgrace. Six years now I think since we had a live game whilst all the other Ulster games have been shown live every year. BBC's reluctance to show Antrim's game live is equally baffling. I see RTE are showing Mayo v Sligo though, that'll be more one-sided than Donegal v Antrim IMO.

Very rarely watch the Sunday game

Catch the highlights but I don't think much of most of the analysis

Some contributors are well past it IMO

Now that's just the football side of things, overall I think the hurling analysis is superior

Rte own the rights to all the championships. The let the bbc show the ulster games as in return rte don't have the expense of having to send crews to the games. This is the main reason why so many games too many imo are shown from ulster on rte. It also means that bbc can't show games not shown by rte live. If antrim win there match the will be shown live on both bbc and rte this is not the case for most counties in the other provinces who will be shown by neither

RTE definitely showed Donegal v Antrim live back in 2014.

Antrim aren't alone in not getting much coverage- the likes of Carlow, Louth, Leitrim etc. rarely make it on to our screens either.
