(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Excellent performance from the Deise men.Outhurled, outfought and outclassed an insipid Cork team.Bar Lehane Cork were a big disappointment. This beating, together with last years hammering by Tipp, does not bode well for Jimmy Barrys men. However that is for another day.Today belongs to Waterford.Congrats lads.Sets the hurling year up nicely.

Fair play to waterford. Far the better side. Cork were totally uninspired. Hopefully we can raise it for the Munster semi in a few weeks time.

Austin Gleeson is a very special player.

Great win for the Deise men. I am delighted for you tonight. Cork were never allowed to get going today. Best of luck in the Munster Championship. 2nd bad weekend in a row for Cork, especially as the girls lost too! Still and all it's only the league. No All-Irelands are won in late April or early May, are they? No doubt Cork's hurlers will improve rapidly, and i fully expect their footballers to improve too.

Congratulations to the Deise. They played very well today and throughout the 2015 League.

Well done Waterford. They won the league the hard way. Cork were a major disappointment though I think JBM had his 'see you later in the championship boys' face on with about 10-15 minutes to go :)

Another team that have peaked in May. Won't win the All Ireland, won't even come close but congratulations to them on the win today

Didn't feel too well this morning and was contemplating giving the game a miss. In the final analysis I did go to game and felt a lot sicker after witnessing a shambolic performance by Cork. Anyhow this is Waterford's day and it would be churlish to talk about Cork's failings rather then Waterford's excellent display.. Well done Waterford, great hurling County, my favourite team outside Cork.

Didnt see this coming - Thought Cork would have enough, even after a poor first half.

Waterford were excellent for the full 70. Delighted to see them claiming the years first piece of silverware. This makes the Munster semi final even more intriguing..

Roll on the Championship - Well done Waterford

Teams that do well in the league do well in the championship. On this years league form waterford and tipp are the teams to beat. I dont see why waterford cant win.

I hope the refs do well this year.

Who said Waterford were defensive!! Looks like they have forwards too!! Well done to them delighted for them to go the whole league unbeaten. Sheer class. Derek mcgrath deserves this he turned Waterford hurling around.

Sincere Congratulations. I saw them paying Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds in the first round of the league and though the game ended in a draw I felt Waterford were very impressive even then. I have never had much faith in this particular Cork team and this is just another in a sequence of poor performances they have delivered.

A big congrats to Waterford. What a display of utter hard work rate and plenty of skill. It would appear some have forgotten already that this wasn't a once off, they beat Tipp in the semi final. And what nonsense we're reading now that Tipp weren't interested and neither were Cork. Well if that's the case it is no wonder that both have come up short in the championship when it does matter. Why would any team throw a chance of winning silverware? I fully expect Cork to beat Waterford in the championship but why wait until then to put down a marker? Why couldn't Cork win both? The plain fact is that they ain't good enough. When Kilkenny were knocked out the Tipp crowd thought the title was theirs. Then when Tipp were beaten, it was Corks title! Both these counties must realise that you have to be able to beat every other county, not just Kilkenny, to win titles. While Tipp have been busy over the last five years trying to find ways of beating the Cats they seem to forget how to beat the other counties. Well, both themselves and Cork have other teams to worry about now.

Again, well done Waterford.

Thats nonsense westisbest.Kilkenny have been top dogs over last 5/6 years, but Tipp have certainly been the second best team.4 All Ireland finals(5 including last years replay)in last 6 years.3 League finals in last 6 years-losing 2 in extra time and the other by a point to the greatest team to ever play the game.Tipp might not have won much in that time but theyve certainly given it their all and died with their boots on.No shame their.Id be more worried about your own county.Apart from 2012 yeve been pretty rubbish, and most years beaten without much of a whimper.Waterford had to play hard to the death to pipp Tipp by a point. As usual yereselves were easily accounted for by the Deise and Cork were awful.

I merely said that if it's a case that Tipp and Cork weren't interested in the League title is it any wonder they come up short in the champioship. You can't beat the winning habit and being picky about what you want to win will always come back to haunt you, Of course Tipp are a great team but second best over the the five years, as you stated yourself. Perhaps it hey would be best if they concentrated on winning each and every match.

I don't need reminding of Galways shortcomings but it doesn't exclude me from commenting on what I saw yesterday. If you want to discuss Galway start a separate thread. You might also include your own county's hurling success!

Btw, Cork were awful the last day but still beat Dublin! Waterford were the better team and made Cork look awful.

Congratulations Waterford. Outside the top 6 at the start of the league and now winners. Hope they can continue this fine form into championship.
