I was on the Hill and i boo'ed. I think it wasnt personal against the derry players as individuals people, but how else do you get the message across that us specators dont enjoy the negativity that has come into the game? The rule makers were watching and listening so I'd say job well done. The fans made their feelings heard.

In fairness to our amateur players they have served up some good fare during the current league campaign.
Two awful matches (DL v MN and DUB v DRY) and a few mediocre ones getting a lot of coverage.
On the other hand we had plenty to enjoy (more than in the first hour in the AVIVA last night) in KY v DL .. KY v DUB .., KY v MO .., DUB v DL .., CRK V DUB ..,
MO v DUB .., TYR v MN .., CRK v KY .., MN v CRK etc....
Sure enough, all is not/never will be rosy in the garden but the glass is more than half full.
Many on the Hill constantly boo opposing teams/scores .. been part of the fabric for four decades now..nothing new there !
Some of the better teams KY, DL, CRK, TYR, MO have drawn inspiration in the past from silencing them.

You can bet your life that there will be a big change in the rules at congress this year. McSTay made a very strong point on tv last night, and the way he said it has left the GAA no room to hide now. I think that it is about time for change. in 1990, after the worst world cup finals of all time, FIFA outlawed the backpass rule to the keeper, and it transformed the game. We are likely to see a big rule change along the same lines.

I took two people from overseas and a local lad who has never seen GAA out to watch the game in a bar. I had to apologise several times as the standard was so bad. Derry have to go out against Cork next week and entertain knowing that we are already down. This is my final straw. If I dont see an improvement I might not be back until management changes. Bring back Mickey Moran

We had 2 Derry fans beside us apologise. Does the management not care that their own fans are embarrassed by their performance (or lack of). It was bad enough for us Dubs that had to fork out the money to watch that but what about the extra expense their own fans had in travelling down?

As far as I know this current management hasnt won a championship game proper in almost 3 years. We have the players, hence why our clubs do so well but our current management is a joke and so far this season have had six excuses eg hitting the post, weather and refs. We should be a top 8 team not the laughing stock of the country

How dare these oakleafers coming down to HQ and try stifling us.How dare they try and prevent a repeat of last years annihalation. How dare they stop our bodhran banging, jovial purist supporters from banging out renditions of those age old ditties "Come on you boys and boo" and"Boo Army".How dare they stop us from high fiving each other and rejoicing in their players and fans being outclassed and beaten to a pulp. The age of instant gratification, low boredom thresholds and goldfish like attention spans is truly upon us.For all you entertainment deprived city slickers, maybe Robbie Williams will make a comeback tour over the next couple of years. If ye can wait that long.Aghhh im off for a game of snooker and a few pints.Up the Dubs!

Derry are entitled to play as they like.If they feel having a massed defence is the best way to try and beat Dublin then so be it.I wasnt at the game as i was working.Havnt even seen it yet but if people dont like it,stay at home.

'But if people don't like it stay at home'?? Don't have a crystal ball I'm afraid, so I wasn't able to predict what was going to happen in advance and make the decision to stay home.

Cuederocket pipe down your about as interesting as a Derry forward line , I don't nor would I let my sons boo a free kick , yet I booed on Saturday the second time in my life the other being Donegal semi final 2011 .
Venting frustration cant see whats wrong with it or have we become so sanitised we should sit on our prawn sandwiches and email at the earliest convenient opportunity .
Having paid my few bob I don't have an entitlement to entertainment , exciting football , I accept that defensive football has become the norm , but Saturday was a step too far and it gave an opportunity to vent and let HQ know in no uncertain terms sometings wrong . something stinks and it aint the fish .

To Dublin fans, ok by looks of it Derry were more defensive, but dubs employed a similar set up, is that a fair assessment?.
Was it both teams you were booing? , i was in Newry and didn't see game

First half Dublin I wouldn't say they set up with a blanket full stop , but they didn't exactly break a sweat to support attacks either , Dublin were as defensive as your ever going to see in that first half , second half we took the game to Derry , what was shocking was when falling behind Derry continued strategy , a major case of damage limitation if ever I saw it ,
Ive said it on Dubs page we contributed to that spectacle , we cant shirk our responsibilities on what fare was on offer .

Was at game saturday night and fully concur with the majority of views, it was awful stuff. I was there with my Dad who is seventy and has supported his beloved Dublin for over 60 years and he was disgusted by what was on view. in his opinion football over the last 5 years or so is way ahead of the seventies and eigthies etc in terms of quality, score-taking, tackling etc. etc, but saturday night was a whole different story. maybe we are partly to blame, maybe there is an element of over hysteria about defensive football but nothwithstanding that the game on saturday night was borderline free of any quality, inspiration, excitement and individuality. To be honest i have never seem a team do what derry did, they were there with 5 minutes to go but showed no desire to try and win it and it looked like a damage limitation exercise. Are we dealing with the blanket defence I am not sure, the results against the so called defensive teams would bear testament that we are but watching the games it is hard to know. We are definitely not setting the world alight for whatever reasons but are in with a chance to make the semi-finals and maybe more games is a good thing at this time of the year. Allowing for the poor conditions I thought a huge proportion of our teams played very poorly. Our full forward line got no supply of ball, half forward line played very deep in the first half, midfield done reasonably well, half backs and full backs well when you concede 4 points there is not much more can be said. i firmly believe that when Kerry adopted the defensive game plan in the 2014 final that it proved that the much heralded kingdom conceded that playing football would not beat the system and went like for like. Our defeat to Donegal could have won the all-ireland for kerry as they knew what to do. Overall I will reserve judgement of the football year 2015 until Sam is handed out in September but games played like the one on saturday night are not what we we want our children to learn when starting out in nsursery camps and on underage teamd.

A lot of people here are giving out about defensive football, but in reality to make a team competitive you need a good defence. Monaghan are now very competitive and that has been built on defence. Gaelic has never been as popular here with literally hundreds every Saturday morning at mini camps. Personally I would prefer to be be competitive rather then entertaining but not competitive. the problem is that teams don't know how to play the blanket, Donegal are past masters at it and Monaghan are slowly but surely getting to grips with it.

I'm getting worried that the GAA are going to make some ridulous rule changes which completely change Gaelic Football.
