Best of luck to the Lilies today, travelling down to Tuam to play a team that we rarely beat, but we have at least a 50/50 chance today and knowing its a must win I think that we will do it, Its going to be a very anxious afternoon for all in Division 2 with everyone having something to play for and every result impacting on every other team.
Down v Laois - Draw
Meath v Cavan - Meath
WestMeath v Roscommon - Roscommon
Galwway v Kildare - Kildare

What a day of football we have in this division, buzzing for our game later, Cavan to go up, Down to join them, Westmeath and Kildare for the drop.

Good division this year with everybody involved to the last day. I think there will be a few surprises yet, possibly Laois getting a result. Maybe a Meath Roscommon promotion. WTF is going on in Kildare?

Just to be clear, my last post was purely directed to royaldunne. The other fans on this page are knowledgeable, great fans who know their stuff and base their posts on facts. Meath and Cavan are very good sides as are the rest of the teams. Glad we will not be in div 2 next year though with 5 ulster sides in it.

Well done to Down and especially Roscommon. Great performance to go straight through Div 2 and gain a second promotion. Well done to my neighbours Laois too for holding their Div 2 place. For ourselves it's very disappointing. Ryan has never gotten much of a tune out of our lads despite taking over a half decent set up. I hope he doesn't stay for the championship but i'm sure he will. It's going to be a short summer for Kildare by the looks of things. Again, well done Down and Roscommon.

I wouldn't be so quick to rule out your summer Kildare73, I would still rate ye as favourites to beat us (assuming we get past Carlow who have been doing well lately). Ye seem to have the hoodoo over us the past few years and that league win would give ye some additional confidence. Who would the winner be facing in the semi's?

I think you'll find that its Down and Meath who are promoted not the Rossies. Very hard luck on Roscommon to beat the two promoted teams and miss-out on points difference.

Well done to Down and Roscommon, third place again for Meath. I don't think we are ready for division 1 yet. It was a very poor Division this year and will be a lot stronger next year. Down and Roscommon to come straight back down I reckon

Congrats to Down and Roscommon. Well deserved. Another third place for us which is what we deserve. We're working hard but lack a few real class players. I've a feeling the division will be even harder next year with the addition of some Ulster teams.

Great to have Roscommon a young side come up , looking forward to seeing Murtagh a bit more often , as for Down not sure what to expect , never do when we play them , never do when I see them play in Ulster .

Cannot see Meath doing any better next year, actually overall, our forward play and awful wides in games let us down.Tyrone will get promoted with Derry or Armagh.

Congrats to down and Roscommon, we left it behind us with Laois and particularly rossie games. But sure that's football.
The lads were heartbroken today, but sure onwards and upwards, not one of us will remember this come June, at the end of the day its all about championship, my main concern is Donal keoghan as im sure it is with all Meath fans.

absolutely sick to my back teeth of people (mainly fellow Ross fans) claiming Ross are not ready for Division 1 football..... Division 2 is going to be just as difficult next year with the addition of Derry, Tyrone, Armagh and a Pete McGrath trained Fermanagh... slightly more open football of Division 1 should suit our style better so with a bit more cuteness there is no reason why we cannot compete.. Monaghan have showed us a quick Division 3 to solid Div 1 jump is not as impossible as some extremely pessimistic people will have you believe.. was only 3 years ago we were beating Monaghan in Hyde Park before they went on to quickly arrive in the top division.. I for one am a very very happy Ross man tonight.. Roll on the rest of April, u21 semi and a trip to Croke Park..

Down went from Division Three in 2009 to Division one in 2011, 2012 and 2013, reaching the league semi final in 2012 and finishing fourth in 2011. It is possible to achieve two successive promotions and compete, this is backed up by Monaghan this year who are currently in the league semi.
