Its an educated guess. Kilmurray-ibricane made the all Ireland club final in 2010 but apart from that The munster championship is dominated by Kerry and cork clubs, predominantly Kerry. My question was how can bookies put a team that has never won a munster never mind an all-Ireland at the odds they were put in. That was my question all along. Im not saying anything bad about clare football but St Brigids had won the all Ireland in 13 and had won 4 Connacht titles in a row up to 2014. Despite today my point was valid so twist it all you want. Rosfan (Roscommon) - Posts: 778 - 09/11/2014 21:39:05 1670964 Link 0 |
It wasn't valid. I explained that the likelihood was that Brigids could be out before Cratloe, that's why the bookies had the odds, how can you not understand that. Brigids are out, the bookies were spot on! TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7907 - 09/11/2014 21:47:08 1670966 Link 0 |
Rossfan, the Munster club is not won "predominately" by Kerry clubs. Kerry clubs have won on 16 occasions. Nemo Rangers alone have won it 14 times, and Cork teams 28 times in total. KIB have won two titles recently and Drom/Broadford from Limerick have also won it. Cratloe have an excellent chance this year. The Cork and Kerry winners are 'new' winners. It would be different if Crokes and/or Nemo had progressed as they have experience at this stage. Andy_Capp (Westmeath) - Posts: 282 - 10/11/2014 09:53:00 1670997 Link 0 |
This thread is about Frankie Dolan's talent which in my opinion in unquestionable, not about Cratloe or any other club. Start a new thread!!! RossieBlue (Roscommon) - Posts: 29 - 10/11/2014 16:24:22 1671155 Link 0 |
RosFan - your educated guess may lack a little creditable detail but I can see where you might be coming from. Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1415 - 10/11/2014 21:30:10 1671266 Link 0 |
have Brigids no good young players?? Miler (Mayo) - Posts: 1015 - 10/11/2014 21:50:23 1671275 Link 0 |
Looks like my educated guess was right. Beaten by a Waterford team. Rosfan (Roscommon) - Posts: 778 - 16/11/2014 17:35:22 1672629 Link 0 |

Not really getting the point are you! One was beaten by potential all Ireland champions with mayo county footballers. The other was beaten by a decent though limited Waterford side. Its not a witchhunt against cratole though it is sounding like it. I just didn't get how they were ahead of brigids. There both beaten now so argument over. Exactly so the bookies were right, that is the point. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7907 - 16/11/2014 18:39:07 1672644 Link 0 |
And you don't seem to understand that club teams can be strong from weaker counties. Kilmurry, St Galls, I can go on...... TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7907 - 16/11/2014 18:42:37 1672645 Link 0 |
The flaker both teams were beaten at the same stage so I don't know how that proves the bookies were right, in any case as rossie blue has said this has nothing to do with Frankie. ros1 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1211 - 16/11/2014 19:16:13 1672654 Link 0 |
