To be fair WestKerry I think they just want consistency from some posters. If an Ulster team pulled some of the cynicism that Kerry did today they would be lambasted. and they have a very valid point.

I don't think Kerry are alone in this. Mayo are well able to throw in some gamesmanship and have often done so.

Marc O Sé feigning injury wasn't a high point either.

It was a great game but the proper amount of injury time needs to be added for this carry on.

You wouldn't catch Donegal men at it!!!

Yeah, ahem....the Connolly sending off in 2011 immediately comes to mind.

Irish people are a bunch of feckin begrudgers.

That game made me proud of GAA and the entertainment it produced over two games was different gravy.

Sure there where a few incidents at the end there, but why let 2 minutes of handbags for example, overshadow 160 minutes of top top football from amatures. They pput everything in, They deserve praise and people on here show a lack of class when the first thing they do after such a titanic tussle like that, Is criticize rather than congratulate.

Kerry have been doing that for decades.

that's usually why they win.

I have to laugh at the obsession some Northern Gaels have with Kerry and their desire to stick the boot in them whenever they can just because they disagree with the opinions of a Sunday Game panellist from Kerry who has medals of all kinds overflowing his pockets, it would be more in the line of said Gaels to look back at various semi finals and finals of the 70's and 80's where plenty of Northern teams tried to take chunks out of Kerry, and indeed Dublin, whenever they got the chance!! Get over your paranoia about Spillane, he is one voice, the Kerry team or management have never thrown any remarks against their northern opposition or their style of play and Spillane doesn't speak for the team or the county of Kerry so why the need to pick holes in everything they do is beyond me

+1

A voice of reason (Albeit from a Dub!). Epic encounter today and two extraordinary games of passion & intensity by two amateur teams. One of the best sporting evenst of last decade for excitement and gusto. Perhaps some dubious refereeing decisions at times, but I think in fairness they evened out over game. Immense congratulations to both sets of players, they did their counties proud, shame one had to lose.

God no Joxer, that was a terrible, unprovoked attack by Connolly. Marty Boyle was never the same after it!!!!.

I hope there will be none of the unsavoury stuff we saw today on display tomorrow. The reputation of the game is at stake.

This is a stupid comment coming from a Monaghan man. In the ulster final they weren't to sporting either. Dermot Malone spent first half of the game trying to get mc gee sent of. Dick clerkin flooring murphy, Ryan mc Hugh got kicked up and down the pitch and Kieran Hughes nearly took the head of paddy mc grath in last seconds of the game. Now that being said mayo weren't found wanting in the ruck at the end of the game either. This ulster against the rest thing is stupid we play our way they play there's. At the end of the day I don't care what way any team plays. We are a defensive team it works get over it. Dublin are a class act they play the game there way and so does kerry. No one was hurt in the ruck so get over it best team one.

Its a pity that Kerry were at their 'purist' best in defending by constant fouling and brawling and continuing to brawl through the last 10 minutes when they were defending and Mayo were in possession. Yes they won the game. Does that justify their behaviour? Is the win at all costs mentality - now the way for all teams- and for Kerry?

Kerry sadly have been successful in recent years in the art of the cynical.

I am a neutral and it saddens me to state the above.

The number of times that Kerry players fouled, then held onto the ball, then did not move the required distance... delayed the free being taken, kicked the ball away, ... does not do their reputation any good.

No doubting their class players, their teamwork, their great scores and their exceptional subs bench. All when they are in possession. All very positive, but it is disappointing to see their tactics - and that's over the 2 days. How many times was O' Shea fouled last Sunday?

Its a mite tiresome to blame northern posters for their responses and accuse them of sour grapes when they point out the negative in matches south.

Its another thing to look at the real situation that has been almost the norm for Kerry teams over the past decade.

Now come on and fleece me! And go on and say - what have Carlow ever brought to the table!!!!!!! Ready and waiting!
