Ref had a good game. Both teams were intent on fouling cynically. JayP (Dublin) - Posts: 1772 - 30/08/2014 19:28:54 1644710 Link 0 |
Hard luck Mayo. Losing the two after the clash cost youse but not as much as the ref. How many scores he gave Kerry was criminal. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 30/08/2014 19:28:55 1644711 Link 0 |
Mayo have only themselves to blame. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13717 - 30/08/2014 19:29:22 1644714 Link 0 |
I am the first to defend referees but today was a shambles. What rule book was this ref using - it made it a very frustrating game to watch knowing that the football is being destroyed by a referee. zinny (Wexford) - Posts: 1805 - 30/08/2014 19:30:59 1644716 Link 0 |
Good luck to Kerry in the final and thank you James Horan for you service to Mayo football. Mayoabroad (Mayo) - Posts: 14 - 30/08/2014 19:31:26 1644717 Link 0 |

Heartbroken for Mayo. Refereeing was a disgrace. Kerry got a soft penalty and at least 4 soft 14 yard frees. tireoghainabu (Tyrone) - Posts: 276 - 30/08/2014 19:33:55 1644720 Link 0 |
Very true Naysayer. Cavan Armagh scenes were actually no worse than today except today they went at it a few times. Kerry may be short a few come All-Ireland Sunday but some how I don't think the CCC have the balls. Plus, neither are from Ulster ;-) Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 30/08/2014 19:36:38 1644723 Link 0 |
Mayo only have themselves to blame as they cannot finish teams off and showed it particularly in the first game. SLLY (Dublin) - Posts: 463 - 30/08/2014 19:37:48 1644726 Link 0 |
Completely gutted for Mayo. Thankfully a biased ref isn't going to be enough to save Kerry from the Dublin onslaught. RebelCork (Cork) - Posts: 789 - 30/08/2014 19:38:03 1644727 Link 0 |
Fair play to Kerry. That bit classier when it counted. Good luck against Donegal or Dublin. Yer team have serious heart on top of yer native skills. Hope I meet a few of ye in Limerick tonight. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7359 - 30/08/2014 19:38:35 1644728 Link 0 |
A massive win for Kerry, crushing defeat for Mayo. I can't give this Kerry team enough credit, a team in 'transition'! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8596 - 30/08/2014 19:39:01 1644730 Link 0 |
Mayo have a huge reason to be aggrieved. Refereeing was a disgrace speaking as a neutral. If star was within twenty yards of the ball he got a free. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 30/08/2014 19:39:19 1644731 Link 0 |
Have to agree about some Mayo supporters near the end very disappointing to see, if it was a Dub supporter the whole Country would be on here about it. Life time ban is the only thing, no matter how good or bad a ref was they should never be chased off a field, how we could learn from rugby and the way refs are respected. therealtmo (Tipperary) - Posts: 1292 - 30/08/2014 19:40:34 1644733 Link 0 |
Well done to Kerry, they were the better team but as usual refs making bad mistakes costing games. Shane Enright was already on a yellow when he pulled down Cillian O'Connor for the penalty so he should have got a black card if not a yellow which would mean a 2nd yellow and therefore a red and Kerry would be down to 14 men. Mayo didn't really show up, got stuck in but performance was as bad as the Roscommon game. Horan made 2 mistakes at the start by starting Alan Dillon and Andy Moran, should have held them until mid 2nd half. Kerry no 9 i think its David Moran was by far the best player on the pitch, James O'Donaghue shouldn't have won it. Mayo are short a number of players to have any chance of success, maybe time for James Horan to go, 2 finals and again this year too many mistakes made on the sideline, not changing things or making subs on time. Has to be better players somewhere in Mayo riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 30/08/2014 19:42:53 1644740 Link 0 |
Naysayer Mayo running on empty, you have to be having a laugh. Former_Poster (Meath) - Posts: 394 - 30/08/2014 19:43:32 1644744 Link 0 |
Ref had a huge influence in game, def used his own rule book and thats not childish, its just a fact. COR has just summed it up, ref seemed to have a soft spot for Star and his decisions had a bearing. commander (Kildare) - Posts: 225 - 30/08/2014 19:45:49 1644749 Link 0 |
People blaming the ref is crazy talk. Mayo got handy frees too. Especially last week. A gentle breeze would cause O'Connor, Moran and O'Shea to fall over within 40 metres of the posts. Kerry were better today. Last week Mayo even down to 14, Mayo should have closed it out. JayP (Dublin) - Posts: 1772 - 30/08/2014 19:47:13 1644750 Link 0 |
Hard luck Mayo well done Kerry two cracking games now for the Defensive semi final Jim is parking the bus at the top of the Clonliffe road. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 30/08/2014 19:48:09 1644753 Link 0 |
If I was from Mayo I'd be disappointed to be on the wrong side of some 50/50 decisions over the two games. I agree with the poster who said osheas knock changed the game. I feel for Mayo but at least w won't have to look at them capitulate in yet another final. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1171 - 30/08/2014 19:48:14 1644754 Link 0 |
