Armagh vs Meath

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Lots of "if's" and "but's" about both these sides. I expect Armagh to be more attack minded than in previous games. How our players have recovered from the last day out will be crucial. If they're up for it, I expect Meath to win, otherwise it'll make for a long day. Meath by 5+

Ye it'll be interesting to see what this Meath team is made of, they completely folded the last day out so let's hope there's a bit of a reaction in them although admittedly I'm not expecting too much of a reaction, I'd be delighted with a 1 point win as I'm sure most Meath fans would be.

Meath certainly not at the stage of development some of their more deluded fans seem to think, Armagh to send them packing for another year.

to be honest, i wouldnt read too much into the dublin result in thinking who will win this as i think the Dubs would give us a similar beating, they are the best in the country imo.

I like Meath, always have, will have to set that aside for 70mins on Sat, hope we can do it.

Armagh to win handy by 3-4 points without ever looking in trouble. Has been no fight in these Meath footballers for a few years now.

Two very quiet camps in the build up to this, neither wanting to show their hand. Grimley especially will have a good knowledge of the Meath players, so I think MOD wants to leave him pondering. Tactically armagh seem to be doing things right this season and MOD will need to be on the ball and readjust things if needed and do this promptly. Meath need to be hard in the tackle and willing to put the bodies on the line, there's a quarter final spot up for grabs here. Lets be having it! Cant wait to see what unfolds at 5.00pm tomorrow evening at headquarters. This could be a cracker.

McKeever out is a big loss for Armagh. They will certainly miss his leadership

McKeever missing has to tip the balance in Meath's favour. Really looking forward to watching both games live tomorrow in croker after a few pints of the black stuff!

As htaem said I'd settle for a 1 point win. Yeah it would seem the Tyrone lads very narky, not enjoying their holidays. Great to be playing championship football in August.

I'm assuming all the talk of McKeever being out is coming from the article in today's Irish News which Hoganstand based their article off. I heard talk of him being injured during the week, but the Irish News are also saying that Ethan Rafferty and Kieran Toner are both unavailable for selection which is untrue, so I'd believe nothing until we see who's out on the field tomorrow. Hard game to call, very 50/50. Gonna say Armagh by 2 or 3 as we're stronger in the middle of the field and that should give us a good footing for the rest of the game, but we'll just have to wait and see if that pans out.

Hopefully McKeever will be fir. He is a hard, physical player but he's also a fine footballer and one of Armagh's real leaders. I'd say if he's any way right at all they have to play him. I reckon he's the type of buck who'd be willing to play through the pain barrier with an All Ireland quarter final spot up for grabs.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jamie Clarke in action in Croke Park. For me, he is one of the top 5 footballers in the country.

Hoping for an Armagh Win, but think the Royals might shade it and set them up for a crack at us........ Which I'm sure the royals will get all excited again and tell us how they are going to beat all in front of them again....
