Did not see them play yet but will do Sunday but on all reports Donegal have quite a nice team. From what Iv heard done a lot of gym work throughout the winter. Also I think play a type similar to the Big Boys ( Donegal seniors))
What a day it could be for S Mc Brearty on the minors , Paddy on the Seniors , two Medals won by two brothers on different teams on the same day. Also a big day for Gweedore with NINE from the club on the panels of the two teams. Well done Gweedore.

Treaty exile
Iv been watching Kerry minor teams for 20 years now and this team is serious , we have deadly footballers in every posisition and a real good bench, and your right , over the years Kerry teams would have wilted under pressure but these guys have shown great mental strength as well, but from here on will tell a lot, no safety blanket now just straight knock out.

KingdomBoy1 - that Kerry team will need to be a very serious outfit. From what I've seen today, it's very hard not to see Dublin winning Minor, u21 & Senior this year.

Quarter final line up:

Donegal v Roscommon
Mayo v Armagh
Dublin v Cork
Kerry v Kildare

Games to be played over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Worth noting that there was a minor/senior double in all four provinces this year.

Kerry,Dublin,Mayo and Donegal for me. Kerry and Dublin to win comfortably,Mayo to struggle but come through Armaghs blanket defence and Donegal to get a run for there money against a well organised Roscommon outfit.

The recent fine weather means that the hay is saved so the youngsters out west can concentrate on the football after some healthy farm related exercise - until it's time to bring the turf in of course.

Mayo should be ready.

Dubs to win it! I said it before a ball was kicked. And they'll win next year too!

Actually, I thought they'd win Leinster, but with all underage competitions it's hard to predict.

Fairly good Dublin Minor team next year though. This year is like flipping a coin though. Kerry look decent.

I always have to laugh when I see comments like this. There's half the lads on those teams wouldn't know a bale of hay if it hit them in the face.

In all seriousness though, I agree with yew_tree - have you not the turf home yet?!

Dublin must of done some serious amount of work over the past ten years at underage! In saying that a lot of counties put in a huge emphasis on their underage.

Two reasons:

a) We're still celebrating saving the hay so early this year, and no silage bails on the land since God knows when.
b) The bog is on top of the hill. Refer to previous point as to why we haven't managed to get up there yet to bring the turf home.

They are a SERIOUS bunch of minors, they are small but built for speed, other teams go for giant young fellas wit not much skill but we go for skill and speed.

We could be a big thorn in your side this year my dear man as whatever about our Seniors v Dublin we have a MINIBUS also coming through in the shape of our minors Saw them on Sunday and very impressive but room for improvement but I don't think they will be an easy touch for anybody.
So if things work out the Dubs on the Hill could get to see the BIG yellow bus plus THE MINI BUS Now that would be some sight.

2012, the Dubs had a seriously good minor team and it was widely expected that their conveyor belt of talent would make them unstoppable for years. Didn't work out that way last year. With minors the only performance relevant is their last one, and the good teams tend to get better with every game. But predicting consistency from one year to the next is virtually impossible. At least the Tyrone minors aren't in it this year. I found their cynicism last year truly shocking, and it very nearly paid off for them... it certainly got them to the final at the expense of a couple of more skilful sides.

Looks like the Dubs are best placed this year, with Kerry in with a shout. My own county are improving, having been lucky against a very talented Galway. It looks like it's Ulster/Connacht on one side of the draw, so a final place is up for grabs for those 4 teams, and one of them may have evolved significantly by September.
