I would be with Hill on this. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3738 - 26/02/2014 10:27:52 1551476 Link 0 |
Hill, if you were in Parnell then you know that the place was full. The stand was full a good while before throw in, the back of the Church goal was full, as was the terrace on the golf course side and the walls were were all lined. So where the other several thousand were going to fit is anyone's guess! There were a lot of people using season tickets and Parnell passes so perhaps they were not counted. Also saw them letting juvenile groups in through gates. hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 26/02/2014 10:48:11 1551485 Link 0 |
Hurlingdub, I just had to show my Parnell Pass to gain entry. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3738 - 26/02/2014 11:03:03 1551493 Link 0 |
Well there is a safety aspect. Do they just keep letting people in until everyone is jammed like sardines? If all Parnell and season ticket holders turned up on the one day, that would be enough to fill the place alone. hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 26/02/2014 11:28:45 1551504 Link 0 |

Croke Park is the only place i'd believe the official attendance...everywhere else its normally 60/70% of the amount of huans present.....in the league of Ireland they do be trying to inflate the attendance figures but in GAA we seem to want to make the official attendance as low as one can get away with...has to be some sort of scam going on with the attendences given out at games. hurler32 (Limerick) - Posts: 867 - 01/03/2014 20:53:36 1552905 Link 0 |

The problem for Dublin is the frequency of games at Croker. Also a lot of people are actually involved in juvenile sports now. Its a big ask to be mentoring maybe twice/three times a weekend this time of year. Then heading off to Croke Park to get your butt frozen off watching a glorified exhibition match and paying top whack for it to. I shamelessly enjoyed the Dublin v Cork game, in front of the fire, with my beer and chinese, after two juvenile games earlier. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4898 - 03/03/2014 10:41:35 1553656 Link 0 |
Couple of things lads I think every Dublin game is live on the tv maybe they should not show the home games live then a much bigger crowd will turn up in croker as 20 thousand is a good number but not when the stadium holds 80 thousand. Should they just play there home matches back in Parnell park as a full house would be a great atmosphere. knowtherules (UK) - Posts: 181 - 03/03/2014 12:00:29 1553717 Link 0 |
