Great news on Michael Meehan's return for Galway - played against Laois second half and scored from play and was joined by his U-21 mate Armstrong.
Good news for Galway and football fans.

They get those two boys up and running at championship pace and they'll win Connaught and have a good rattle at the All-Ireland. Already some very talented footballers in that squad. They're one of these counties that can come on the scene very quickly.

He's on the bench I believe but all progress. Nice one to spring when the game opens up.

Great to hear he's on the bench at least, hope he gets a run, natural football talent.

A fully fit meehan could put that Ross defence in his back pocket, kicking scores all day long in the hyde.

Well he played great on Sunday.

Maybe this injury was overstated by the media. as they so often do.

Great to see such a gifted player in action

Not sure about that Gigoer..read an article yesterday on what he needs to do, can do, and the pain killers he has to take to make it bearable. He plans to play his first full game for Caltra in the championship and that will tell the tale.
He looked sharp though good to see.

His future didn't look to doubtful against the Rossies the other day. Great to see himself and Joyce linking up again, they play proper route one football. And keep an eye on young Mark Hehir as well, big things expected from him.

no county hurling or football has had any player of that calibre who suffered so much. has not been fully fit since 2009 at the tender age of 24. major loss to us during that period when we had lost the mojo from the glorious team of 1998-2001.

Just to clarify, He has not retired, he is taking a complete break in order to give a long standing ankle problem a chance to heal properly, he hasnt ruled out making a return at some stage!!

I'm convinced he would have been one of the best forwards of his era had he been fit for most of his career. I'll never forget when he made Marc O Sé (the best corner back I've ever seen) look like a rookie in that game against Kerry a few years back.

Really sad news.

He was utterly unplayable on his day. I remember he hit 3-02 against Down in the U-21 All-Ireland final in 2005. Hope he can make it back, but it doesn't sound good. Himself and Ronan Clarke should have been the stars of their generation but both plagued by ankle problems.

Micheal Meehan is my favorite player after gooch a total class act , I wish him well and hopefully we'll see him on the field of play again next year, it's amazing all the players that the new black card would suit like gooch Meehan Wallace and Kilkenny are all going to miss out this year.
