Surprised no-one has mentioned any of the good bars in Thurles like Bowes and the Marble. There's a few good places around Croke Park, some of them like Meaghers already mentioned. Also the Auld Triangle in Dorset Street which gets a good crowd and is run by people involved in GAA in Dublin, and is the favourite watering hole of Ger Brennan's family! Unfortunately a lot of places are not friendly to GAA especially around Temple Bar where people wearing jerseys have been known to be refused on match days!

Tom Maye's also on Dorset st,A great house when the Rossies are playin. We were playin Meath in the minor semi 06,game was at 12 so we were up early, standing outside Maye's at 10:30,no sign of life so we knocked on the window, this woman answers and pushes us in the door, turns and locks the main door before we head in the lounge door-FULL.Easily 200 plus half drunk Rossies and a few early Dubs as well.Magic Day.
