AAAAAAH, and no one thought of the only father and son to receive the Sam Maguire, John Joe Sheehy, captained Kerry in 1926 and 1930 and son Sean Og captained Kerry in 1962.

154177 mickey burn (the rattler) tipperary who won in the forties and fifties and his son Paul who won in 1971, they i think were the first father and son both who won all ireland senior medals.

Without researching this observation, I feel that Mick(1938) and John Donnellan(1964) may well be the first father and son combination. Adding in Michael (1998) brings up a nice treble.
This treble was also acheived, I think by the Larkin dynasty in Kilkenny.

Still hard to beat the only father and son to receive the Sam Maguire Cup, John Joe Sheehy and Sean Og Sheehy.
John (64,65 Sub 66) and Pat Donnellan (65and66 ) finals, but their father was not a member of the '38 Galway team.

You are indeed correct sir, he was a member of the winning teams of 1925(disputed final) and 1934.

Sorry Boxtyeater ( Leitrim), Mick Donnellamn played in the disputed final of 1925 at left corner forward, and was captain of the losing team of 1933 v Cavan. He did not play on the winning team of 1934, which was M Higgins ( Capt), M Brennan, Mc Donnell, Ferriter, Carey, O Sullivan,Hughes,Mc Carthy, Fox, Dunne,, Connaire, Griffin, Kelly, Mitchell, and Nestor.
Therefore to conclude the arguement, Mick Donnellan ( Sen) did not win an All Ireland Senior C'ship medal.

Wikipedia and the Galway GAA pages will need to be amended then so Sam02. I'll leave that to yourself.
Obviously you are correct and I am wrong about this matter. How stupid of me to make this mistake.
Given that Galway were winners in 1925 and you concede Mick Donnellan played, your conclusion that he did not win an A/I Senior medal is fatally flawed.
Your opinion on this matter and final decision is breathlessly awaited.

Boxtyeater, the 1925 final was declared null and void, Galway can put whatever spin they like on it.

Was any All Ireland win "undisputed"?

Mick Donnellan won an All Ireland, disputed or not.

Galway were declared the champions in 1925, after the dust settled. So in any record books, and GAA official documents, it will list Galway as the 1925 champions.

Check the records again. At the time of this post they show Galway. yes Galway, All-Ireland Senior champions of 1925. Michael Donnellan, as you have confirmed him a player, therefore a medal winner.
Put any spin you like to that one my friend. I'm sure the family have the medal as well.
As the judge might say "next case".

Sorry my friend from Leitrim, A.I.F. of 1925 was declared "NULL and VOID", no medals presented, but it is always said that Galway Co Board bought medals for the team members and distributed them, but not the Celtic Cross from Croke Park. Spin that if you like !!!!

Paddy Larkin in the 30s and Fan in the 60s were the first father and son followed by Fans son Philly to make it 3 generations
