other than that. i think andy mccabe (think he played with crosserlough..although he may have been from Kingscourt and played with them too. just going by what I heard from Talking to people who played against him.

Had the privledge of playing on the great Andy Mc Cabe not to mention his brother P.V.. He was tough and hard. A few others around my era that were tough : Olly Brady, Adge King, Terry Sheridan Mullaghoran and maybe the rest of the team as well, Ballinagh had a few tough merchants like Red Galligan as well as Denn.Their wing forward in that era dident believe in the ball- just a side issue. Lacken also had some massive big men who could look after them selves as did Drumalee.
But I suppose looking back every team had a few tough men but definately a few stood out. Still it was part of the game and I suppose always will.

Having watched Cavan teams for nearly 50 years for me it has to be Andy McCabe, his sideburns alone frightened the life out of any forward who came near him, only remember him playing with Crosserlough....
Going on what my dad would have told me you would also have to mention Willie Doonan, it is widely believed that Cavan would have won a three in a row in '49 if he was playing, when Peter McDermot from Meath heard he wasn't playing it was said that he jumped up on down
