Paddy Kielty's from GAA stock, he + I think his brother also were part of a Down minor All-Ireland winning team from 1987......he'd know the craic + what the GAA's all about. Main hope is it doesn't become a twee cringefest as these things sometimes can turn into but PK should do a good enough job.....

That show was an embarrassment. Pat Kenny knew damn all about Gaelic Games, and it showed.
Consisted of a few players from the prominent counties.

He is more interested in soccer given that he has lived in England for 25 years.

I don't watch the Late late show as I have little interest in the guests.

Oh you know him that well so that you can state so uniquivically that he is "more interested in soccer"?

Certainly he seems to have a wide interest in sport as evidenced by his huge enthusiasm for the Irish team during the World Cup. Clearly he is a big fan --- which puts him on the same level as the vast majority of GAA fans nowadays.

Since you don't watch the Late Late (I do occasionally) you wont have known about Pat Spillane being one of his boyhood heros and the pleasure he evidently displayed on having him as a guest on the show a couple of months ago.

Whatever one thinks of Kielty as a tv presenter, it seems to me he is very much in touch with his GAA roots and is still a big fan of our national sports.

I've always found the RTÉ gaa coverage to be borderline faultless tbh.
I'm in a minority opinion here but I think their commitment to gaelic games coverage is beyond question, throughout the championship season the gaa pretty much takes over the rté at weekends and they show lots of league and club games too.

I don't like Kielty or the Late Late, both as entertaining as a slow death.
But I'll give it a whirl.

Great to see Brolly back on the tv name dropping and telling multiple stories about things that never actually happened.

Brolly was good but seemed to want to take over the show but he always had great stories… nice to see the First Ladies final remembered.. The drawn out fiasco to give 2 All Ireland tickets away involving Marty Morrisey and Cora Staunton taking pot shots at Kielty was embarrassing… You'd think they were giving a house away….!!!!

I wasn't aware of the 25 year emigration rule which automatically means you prefer soccer to GAA after that length of time in another country. I must look on all the other emigrant Gaels in a different light now when they have hit the 25 year mark.

The football boot story debunked ages ago. Such nonsense. And MDMA beside him.
