Replying To Saynothing:  "Two different refs say different so I'll stick with them."
2nd "bounce" wasn't a bounce as he played it with his foot.

Cluxton was my man of the match. Exemplary on kick-outs and nailed two beautiful frees in tough conditions. The control Dublin had on their own kick out was the significant factor I felt.

Replying To arock:  "Yes agree with bounce, the intention of the law is for there to be one bounce not two, but again another poorly written GAA rule. Now if the ref had ruled it the other way there would be no discussion weird."
Probably need to convene a Dáil PAC committee asap, to clarify and cleanup the GAA rulebook. The BBC coverage had a bunch of 'celebrities' in the stand, making comedy about 'the tackle' definition in football, before the game, and again at HT.

Replying To foreveryoung:  "Commiserations Mick. Great game imho; more gladiator stuff than William Tell.

I'd say a lot of that Dublin panel might bow out now. What's there then to stop those Kerry lads from adding a few more over the next 5-6 year? Bar Murphy, O'Brien, and Geaney, that's still quite a young squad.

However, I'd prefer my one a decade is enough for any county scenario to transpire!"
Ah look I'm very disappointed but no complaints. Dublin deserved their win today in a tough battle. Hope Realdub Mesamis Avonali Username Waynol etc enjoying it all. While disappointed massive respect to Dublin and James Mac in particular. Enjoy folks

I just thought it was a sarrcy comment and it's not meant to be a slight on Galway by me..I felt Clifford for last 15 was just trying to force it way to much..I've watched him since minor and I think he,ll be the best forward we've been lucky to see..I saw him have an off night in diversion final aswell..thought it was strange taking both o brown and geaney off as I thought they really troubled the dubs..apologies if I offended, wasn't meant that way..

Very disappointing to lose but have to hand it to the dubs. They alwats find a way. I thought Kerry were kicking on when they went 3 up but that mistake for the Dublin goal totally changed the game. Clifford was not his usual self today but I think that has proved that we are way too reliant on him. He is the only scoring forward we have.

Kerry played in Dublins hands and the game was played on Dublins terms. I dont know ehy Kerry didnt go man to man and just go at Dublin.
I think we would have won if we had done this.

Its a bitter pill to swallow but overall the better team on the day won.

On another note I have to question these tactics by JOC so much so that I think he may need to go. Its probably the best group of players we have had in 15 to 20 years. This year has been poor. We struggled against Cork, terrible against Mayo and very lucky against Derry.

Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "He passed for Geaney goal, which makes your assessment at least somewhat incorrect."
I would contend for that goal he was boxed into the corner so a pass was his only option. On the several shots on goal he took from slightly less acute angles a pass would have been a far better option.

And may I add your other comment on recently acquired mastery is worthy of a papal Bull.

The worst ever holder of the position…he makes some foul ups... an embarrassment to the GAA

Who can step up to the plate next to make it 4 different winners in 4 years?

Thank you Arock. Enjoy the celebrations.

Replying To waynoI:  "Dublin have been in 11 all ireland finals including replays since 2011. They haven't lost one. Outrageous. Absolutely outrageous."
James McCarthy has played in every one of them I think.

Ref did not do Kerry too many favours today. But also poor shooting by Kerry forwards in front of goal. Kerry slightly better team imho. But Dubs have hill16 and terrific support, who can literally will their team on. If this match had been played in any other ground Kerry might have won. But anyway, take your luck Dubs. Hope Galway can match both these teams next time out.

One thing I cannot understand, around the 60th minute the ball played in between D.Clifford and M.Fitzsimons, Clifford on ground, Fitzsimmons knees ball away, out over the end line. Looks like a 65 to me, but the Ref gives a free out to Dubs. Why was this. It was a 50/50 ball between Clifford and Fitz. Why no 65?

Replying To Rebel2020:  "Maurice Deegan clarified it at half time on BBC. Legitimate goal. No infringement"
It was similar to the incident against Conor Daly of Roscommon when no infringement happened and that ref error allow Cork to get the ball back and go up the field and get the winning score.

Looking at the Paul Geaney goal it was unbelievable thinking from him. He knew the split second he attempted the second bounce that it was a foul and tapped the ball into his hands with his foot. Unreal.

We know you meant 45 but the foul on Clifford earlier was overruled as well. Usually forwards get the benefit but he overruled himself after going to umpires.

Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "Maybe his kicking boots were in Fitzsimons pocket? MOTM is Fenton for me."
Maybe you're right...and the fact Fitzsimmons was 2 yards behind him or sitting on his arse in a daze, it was hard for Clifford to get them off him.

The All Ireland will never be played in a different ground and all the players are supporters want it to be played in one place, croke park. The only excuse Kerry can make today is, they were beaten by a better team.
