Replying To Meathball:  "Announced on Meath GAA social media:
We are delighted to announce that our Electric Ireland Leinster GAA Minor Football Championship quarter final game against Westmeathgaaofficial will be live streamed on the Sport TG4 You Tube channel this Saturday. Throw in is at 12.30pm"
Then they go and forget a laptop cable and can't show the game but also have stopped anybody else showing it. Pathetic, beyond amateur. Let Meath GAA TV do it from now on

Meath GAA TV should have done it in any case. The Meath Secretary made an attempt to do it off twitter but gave little or no commentary and then mentioned that Brendan Cummins and Mattie Kerrigan were in the stand commentating and we should tune into LMFM. As it turned out, they were not broadcasting it either. Really poor form from everyone involved with the times that are in it. Embarrassing that a cable couldn't be sourced as well.

Meath GAA aren't allowed do it once TG4 do it as they get exclusive rights. In previous years it's been the case where you couldn't cover a game if TG4 even had highlights. Westmeath Facebook in fairness done a decent job trying to rescue it. The footage is being uploaded to YouTube late today so I will watch it back. But Meath GAA TV definitely would have done it if they were allowed as their is revenue to be made from it

TG4 put the game up on YouTube, the first 15 mins the camera is stationary and doesn't record much of the game so can't say much on that. There's a lot to work on and yet we still won comfortably which is good. Kick passing was very sloppy when we did kick and we seemed to be reluctant to kick it to the inside line although Westmeath may have played defensively (hard to tell on video). Caulfield was really good at wing back, Sean Emmanuel also very good as was Ruairi Kinsella. Billy Hogan has a big boot on him but strangely enough we seem to be losing a lot of both our and their kickouts at midfield. Conor Grey isn't influencing the game as much as you'd like but maybe he can still get there in the next two games as he definitely showed the talent at club level. Our tackling is excellent all over the pitch though and the players look to be in brilliant shape. They've destroyed both Dublin and Westmeath in the 4th quarter. Laois hammered Carlow so they will be a big test next Saturday you'd think. A Leinster final would be a great thing to look forward to in January

So the semi-finals are this weekend and the 4 teams left have all had a comfortable passage to this stage. I think Laois will be a big test for the lads this weekend but I think they will be up for it! Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the lads what with Covid and the lack of coverage last week but I have been told it is a decent squad! I hope they do the business!

I just seen the semi finals is on TG4 YouTube at 12:30 on Saturday. With the help of god all cables will be in order this week!

If we do manage to get by Laois on Saturday, I'm presuming that, given it's still the 2020 championship, all players will still be able to play in the final on January 3rd even if they would otherwise be deemed overage for minor.

Absolutely - It is still the 2020 competition and that is what dictates who can play or not!

Does anybody know if Adam McDonnell from Summerhill is far away from being back from injury. Was on the panel last year and is highly rated by all accounts. Know he got a serious injury but that was a long time ago. Thought the extra break would allow him to be back. Hopefully, we don't feel his absence against Laois

After tomorrow (when we hope Meath are successful), there could be complications in completing the fixtures for the rest of the Minor Championship as planned. The Leinster final Is set for January 3rd when it looks like we will be back in some form of tighter Covid restrictions, and even if the Leinster final goes ahead as planned, Leinster Champions play Ulster champions (January 16th), Ulster are entering a 6 week strict lockdown , so unless the Minor inter county players are considered elite in both jurisdictions it could hold up completing the championship by All- Ireland final day of January 23rd.

A comfortable win. Not great in the 2nd half and Frayne uncharacteristically missed a few easy frees in the 2nd half and we probably won't get away with it in a final. Offaly beat Kildare in the other semi final, we will be strong favourites in the final but with another lockdown on the way who knows when it will be played

Improvement needed particularly up front but thought Kelly at full back as well as Bowden up front were excellent. The subs also had a very good impact which shows the strength of the panel. Offaly will be a stern test in the Leinster final. Where is it likely to be played?

Parnell Park on the 3rd Jan at half 12. Hopefully it is pushed back because of a lockdown and maybe it can get an elite sport exemption. Agreed the bench done well, only concern would be the depth is really getting tested now. Shane Maguire, Adam McDonnell missed the game. Then Donnelly and McDonagh came off injured in the semi. Hopefully with 2 weeks till the final they can get back in. Another Leinster title would be 3 under 17 Leinster's in 4 years which would be very encouraging and a marked improvement, translating it is a whole other issue

Saw the game and some impressive performances . Generally all did pretty good but a few standout from yesterday were Kelly at full back , O Donoughue at wing back . Both midfielders were good with high work rates which is ideal for those positions . The forwards were a little flat at times and will need to improve to win Leinster . Bowden was great and Frayne did ok but I think he is more suited to centre forward as a playmaker ( intelligent) rather that Full forward as does not have that explosive pace needed for that position Pity McDonagh went off , I presume Injured , Coffey did well and offers athleticism .

Adam McDonnell when back will be a huge addition and can play in various roles in the backs from Centre Back to Corners back

Galway and Mayo both knocked out of the minor this weekend by Roscommon and Sligo respectively. Along with Offaly's win over Kildare it's a warning for us not to take this final lightly

I see sports cancelled except elite sports - does that mean Leinster MFC final will be postponed?
