I remember being carried on the bar of a bike from east Waterford in 1961 to a match in Dungarvan (30 miles) by a dedicated club man. He did not get off once, up hill or down hill. My a-rse was so sore when we got there I thought the bar had worn a groove in it. While also remembering I was going home the same way.
