Storm Ciara

So a thread about the bad weather has been turned into more of this Dublin-Kerry nonsense. Can ye please just set up a thread for yourselves and have at it in there?
Almost every single discussion is ruined by the same group of posters. I was hoping it would disappear when the actual football started again, but unfortunately not.

Not a bad idea.

Most of us have no wish to engage in it however. There is a cabal of posters who spend their time on here goading and baiting Kerry posters and that is what nearly always kicks it off. It takes two to tango of course.

Look at the recent threads from the weekend:

Dublin v Monaghan 30 posts not one comment from Kerry posters

Tyrone v Kerry 130 posts crawling with Dublin posters taking shots at Kerry and their players and taking delight at the DC debacle

It would be a pretty simple fix, site is heavily moderated yet inflammatory posts on both sides are left through, admins don't want to fix it for whatever reason.

Looks like Storm Denis the menace, is set to blow in at the weekend, just a week after Storm Ciara.
Will there be further disruption to league matches this weekend?.

If games this weekend are called off, I presume the Hurling League will be pushed back for the third year in a row as there no more free weekend.
If games go ahead as scheduled this weekend, some teams could end up playing 6 weekends in a row and then wait 7/8 weeks for their next game. That is crazy and ridiculous.
This current schedule for the NFL and NHL has to change and go back to the old way with more breaks between games and the Finals being played in April.
April as a Club Month IMO is not working. Players don't like playing 2 Championships in April and then waiting until August for their next Championship games. Also the GAA are missing out big times on a Marketing front by having no Inter-County games in April IMO.

Agree about April, just not working for club games. In Offaly I think we start in late March, with a break until June. Final in October, 4 months later.
Time will be tight for completing hurling league groups, if there is another postponement.
Weather is a pain you know where, two storms in a week!!

All games should be cancelled as welfare of players and supporters is in danger

More rain on already saturated ground some pitches may not be playable this weekend.

I totally agree and it's a disgrace that the GAA does nothing about it.

It should be a motion for Congress.

There is a desperate need for a decent 4G pitch in every county. Hurling in the autumn/winter is just awful. I hated every minute of it and as a club player, that is when you do most of it!
Now I know it won't make playing in a storm easier but at least if the storm hit on Wed the pitch would be playable no matter what.
