Replying To suckvalleypaddy:  "The Black and Tan from Kerry is by far the worst, especially in the centenary year of their rampages in 1919."
Well actually the "Black and Tans" were only recruiting from the beginning of 1920, and didn't arrive into Ireland in force until that summer.

Replying To supersub15:  "My theory on this is, it's not all about the Jersey they dislike it's more to do with the county, in other words if someone dislikes the county they will automatically dislike the jersey that's because the jersey represents the county, and so, if they love the county they automatically love the jersey, personally I love Carlow."
Agreed . I bloody hate Clare jerseys.

Carlow's are quite nice and pretty unique colours for this part of the world

Are Carlow called the rasta boys?

Breezy, I'll cherish your post forever and I'll roar Limerick on 'till they win their next Liam McMcCarthy cup.

PS Great similarity between the Limerick and St. Mullins colours.

You could call me a rasta, sure haven't I been fighting tooth and nail over the past 20 years to get rid of that back door.

As for Cork I cant understand why they cant just write Chill in white lake all previous sponsers for Cork"
The worst part is they can put the chill logo in white, it is on the back of the jersey

Maybe something to do with the Branding. It is an awful Jersey because of the sponsor. Like our own! Its like someone put a big sticker on them.

I think in general O'Neills do not make an attractive jersey or even shirts for that matter. They have lines going all over the place and some of the colors are terrible. They have carried over theses ugly designs into their jerseys now.

That's true, we had a lovely adidas Jersey about 20 years ago.

Teams should be allowed to get adidas Nike or puma if they so desire.

Love the waterford jersey! The only one that i can think of that is really ugly is the Kerry one from last year I think. The gold coloured one.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you.
Most of them are awful design and are not nice looking.
Possibly restrictions on design variations are stopping anything too different from ever seeing the light of day.

To make the Carlow Jersey even worse, the Sponsor is just far too busy, CIT in different languages, the Crest. Surprised they didnt try to fit in their prospectus!
They need to evolve their Jersey in the same way as Wexford. They have it nailed. Clean and simple design

The Carlow Crest is disgusting, they were no thought put into it by the looks of it

Replying To essmac:  "I don't like any modern jerseys. Gaelic or soccer, every time I see old plain jerseys (1970s and earlier), be it Iggy Jones, G Best or Jack O'Shea, no sponsors and no intricate details, I think they all look brilliant. I loved the old Carlow jerseys when they were 3 plain horizontal blocks of colour, like a Rasta flag. Now, it's a mess. The 70s Kerry jersey looked very strong. The 1950s and earlier Tyrone jersey had a massive red hand, life sized, nothing else; like someone had dipped their hand in a pot of red paint. Again, looked great. Modern jerseys far too fussy; but I accept it's driven by sponsors and boards want to sell jerseys"
You're right.

It's driven by selling new jerseys every year. Eventually you run out of decent designs.

I don't like sponsors' logos but I put up with them because of the funding.

They did try a mostly red jersey in Carlow a few years back and it looked awful. The colours can work they just need to keep to a clean classic look and leave out the mad swirls and lines.

Last thing they should do is pick 1 colour which is boring unless it is historic like Corks plain red or Real Madrid's plain white shirts
