A sense of dejavu is the best way to describe our trip to Healy in many many ways, but sincere thanks to our hosts who always give us a great welcome and help provide the buzz of the occasion.

In many ways this was a very enjoyable game for us Vikings, like i said De Ja Vu was the feel of it and while the neutral may have found it a tame affair, i would have traveled much further to see so many Dublin legends take the field together again.

MDM, Dermo, ROC, Macker, EOG, and Bernard all on the field playing championship ball does nothing but warm the heart of anyone form this Dirty Oul Town.

But with nostalgia satisfied there was a game of ball to be played and in true poker fashion as both Jim and Mickey held their cards close to their chest.

Dublin and Tyrone fitted into their usual set ups of a blanket defensive systems and Dublin patiently trying to engineer the space and waiting for their opening. The early exchanges were tit for tat in the main, with the game overall being played a few degrees below championship intensity.

Cormac Costello, looked like he had a point to prove, and ably kicked over what came his way, as Dublin began to keep Tyrone at arms length. Dermo Connolly looked as if he wondered what all the fuss was about as he fitted into a midfield role and looked to play an anchor role, just to tease everyone who knows what he can in a forward role. He hit some beautiful passes.

Some quality was telling and both Tyrone and Dublin worked decent goal chances, with the both impressive Even Comerford and Benny Gallen, saving critical goals scoring chances. Big ROC looked a bit shaky due to his years out in his first start and we will be hoping that game has knocked some rust off, Jonny Cooper ably mopped up most that was coming in we were struggling with to turn in a cracking performance.

An impressive Sean Bugler performance marked by creativity, drive and work rate underpinned Dublin just pushing ahead in the second quarter and ending the half 08-05. Keeping Tyrone just at arms length.

The second half had a similar feel from the first with teams trading points and a couple of goal scoring chances ably dealt with by the impressive keepers. Dublin just managing to stay in front, before Harte and Gavin ran the benches. This just about made the difference, with Dublin finishing with that bit more energy and quality amongst their subs as lads of the caliber of Brogan and O Gara came on for impressive lads like Paddy Small.

This appexed in another Sean Bugler inspired move that got O Gara in for late goal that ended the game as a contest and Dublin won in Omagh for the second year in the trot, to keep in place their outstanding unbeaten championship record.

A pleasing day for the Dubs, ive mentioned the joy at seeing lads like Macker, Brogan, ROC, Dermo, O Gara, Philly, Andrews, McCarthy, Cooper all on the same pitch at the same time again. But it was equally pleasing to see what is coming next. Sean Bugler was my man of the match slightly ahead of Cooper who wouldn't deny him, a real tripartite performance of work rate, creativity and Clinical finishing that we haven't seen from him before. Paddy Small, oozes class and has the look of someone with imperious ability once he develops, hes really been chipping in this championship very quietly but his contribution hasn't gone unnoticed. Comerford can be very pleased with his days work he is coming on and coming on all the time, for the day we all dread. Andy McGowen and Robbie McDaid can be pleased with their days work also. Good to see O Connor knocking around as well after a difficult league. was a bit of a surprise to see POCB come in after playing the day before in the U20 final, he will be made up to make his senior debut and will go some ways to making up for his disappointment in Portlaoise. Hes a player and no mistake.

Dermo looked like he was never away, but i think ROC struggled, i hope that was an off day or a blowing out the dirty diesel exercise but he looked way off the player we know he can be yesterday. But in Jim we trust.

One thing we know in Dublin its the panel that wins All Ireland's and not the starting 15, so this was more then a challenge game with lads putting their hands up for places in the match day panel next week and hopefully beyond, you wouldn't be surprised to see any on the field yesterdays being match winners going on by making a significant contribution, so far fro a dead rubber in my eyes.

All in all a terrific day out, lots of nostalgia and brilliant experience to see so many legends back playing together for the first time in years, equally the surprise bonus of so many young players putting in some brilliant performances.

Despite the shadow boxing you wont get to many Dubs regretting making the trip or feeling short changed.

Next up we have a prime time affair and a matter of Mayo at home next week, it will be an absolute festival of occasion, color, passion and atmosphere cant wait."

I wish, won't be seeing the main man from Meath until after Xmas, he's busy crunching Meath historical league stats! Hope he enjoyed Meath run in the Championship though, a year when you play Dublin, Mayo, Kerry and Donegal is never a bad one.

Ahem... actually the decision to introduce the black card was taken BEFORE that Monaghan Tyrone game...please get your facts right

My heart sank when they said there were seven minutes of stoppage time. Sure, neither of the teams seemed all that bothered about winning.

I like the Super 8s as a concept but it needs a few tweaks here and there. You'll never eliminate that 4-4-0-0 situation but it'd be nice if the neutral round were last so that every team has a home game while they're still in the comp.

And, of course, it'd be nice if the neutral ground games were played on neutral grounds.
