mayo have done well to keep the head down the last couple of weeks while the independent and the times and all the rest plan for the donegal dublin semi final. mayo will have something to say about it before the weekend is over"
No links? Seem to have go e very quiet when asked for your source.

I think we will be close to full strength. I hope we are and mayo are likewise.

One I noticed doesn't even mention mayo in the article.

We are used to being ignored by the Dublin media up here in the forgotten county anyway, unless something drastic happens up here all RTE would ever show would be a dot on the map and then go on to mispronounce the name of whatever town the thing happened in,
if they are mentioning us now it's not to do us any favours I can assure you, for years now we have listened to the phychodrama of the Mayo quest for an All Ireland, no fault to the Mayo players or management they have been busting their guts to try and land the holy grail, but the media are there to spin stories and make money,
like they'll ask some fella a question and when he foolishly answers whatever they ask him. they then spin it like he has come out and made some big statement unprovoked, eg James Horan insists...……. it's all a load of bs,
I have not heard a word from the Donegal camp, indeed I was in a massive GAA pub this evening and there isn't even a rumour going about who will be out injured/who might be back, I have never seen it so low key in the run up to a big match, could be another great game like the Kerry one if the weather doesn't spoil it,
may the best team win, if Mayo beat us then good luck to them and I hope they then go on and land that holy grail.

That's one rte story. Not 'lots of people' as op referenced. U are right though, there is no mention of mayo there, just pie in the sky crap. The big question is whether this type of journalism has trickled down to the average supporter or seasoned one. I don't hear or see it this week, not a whisper about tickets even.

Also worth mentioning Tyrone and Kerry are also focused on in this article as potential Dublin opposition, it's not exactly Donegal or bust. Dl weaknesses included in this article.

Aidan O Shea is not Mayos biggest threat by a long way. In fact unless something major has changed in 2 weeks he isn't worth targeting at all. Its Mayos Half Back and Half Forward line that are the big areas to watch. The match ups in these areas will be interesting.

Aidan O Sheas last Deadly game was probably against us in 2013. Since then he has been played out of position, been unfit and appeared to be more interested in scrapping than playing football. I did however enjoy his stint as a full back.

Lats post before the big game. Cannot wait for it to start if I'm honest. There's been so much chat in the build up - injuries, kickouts, home advantage, the Rochford factor etc etc.

Let's hope for a good hard match with teams as close to full strength as possible. This is the time of year you want to see the best players going at it in do or die football.

I believe Donegal can go down there and win but it'll be an almighty battle, and that's how it should be at this stage of the Championship.

Safe travels to all those heading down. It promises to be a fantastic atmosphere!

I don't think most people in Donegal would write off O'Shea. As I recall he got a great goal against us in 2015 too so we (most of us) are very wary about him.

He's hurt us badly enough in previous games for him not to be dismissed. I get that he's inconsistent but he's a serious operator when he's on his game.

50/50 game. Toss of a Coin. If we are missing key players it's advantage Mayo. The home crowd will play a huge part.

Last post from me before game.

I hope it is a cracking contest. Plenty of scores and big performances. I hope the weather is fine and we get a special evening in Castlebar. . I will shout Mayo on if they make the semis. They have a big shout if their players find their championship form on Saturday evening. But I believe we can win this if we play to our form and our potential. May the best team win.

Fact is donegal are deserving favorites but Mayo have a chance."
Because national pundits/analysts are clearly seen in a different light to forum posts and local media, I can't tell if you're being serious or not? The vast majority of those are calling a Mayo win, I've come across barely anyone predicting Donegal to win.

Donegal are 8/13 favs in Mchale park for a championship match , you would have to go back to the early 2000s since a team were favs at mchale for a championship game v Mayo.

The form is firmly with Donegal , we have lost to Roscommon and extremely lucky to sneak a win v Armagh so far in 2019 at mchale park. The sheer speed difference in the two games at Croker showed us the diffference , we also lost to Kerry by ten points .

Donegal should win this but they probably won't as we are told Mayo will show another gear tomorrow evening . Neither will beat the dubs so its most likely a pure waste of time anyway.

Is that a quiz question! I love quizzes. Now let's see. He dominated Kerry in the league final but maybe that's not do or die. Ditto the Ros in the game we lost but maybe that doesn't count either. Can't remember last year because we hadn't many games. Going back to 2017 he pulled us almost single handedly through the back door even excelling against Kerry in the unfamiliar position of full back. Seem to remember that being fairly do or die. Seeing as it's the last time there's no point in going back over other years so I'll go for the league final as there was a back door after the Ros game. Am I right? Is there a prize?

Did OK against Kerry in 2017 in both SFs. The job he did against Donehy was very important. Ya some AI's past AOS by but I don't agree with the level of criticism that he gets

In his native home, Killarney, he was shown up . His Conor Mc Gregor imitation got him nowhere a bully boy that could not respond when boot was on the other foot Looks like all are playing for the honour of being second to the Dubs but then I'm told it is all of 120 years since Dublin won an All Ireland in a year ending with a 9, One has to look for omens somewhere . Best of luck Green and Gold
