Early in the league a lot of Kildare posters said we wouldn't have a good year. We were proved right. I think Cian is not getting enough out of what he has available & should walk now.
(although to be fair none of his 3 best players from last year kicked a ball this year - Dan Flynn making himself unavailable & Paul Cribbin & Kevin Flynn injured - so that would have been tough to overcome for any manager)

Good luck to Tyrone anyway. Don't see any of the four provincial final losers beating them.

He should be given his p45 at this stage, kildare are at nothing. Ive never had much faith in him. 19 years since a leinster title and we are as far away from as we ever were. I've said it all along how deluded kildare supporters can be, far too many passengers on board. But when you see how poor club football is is it any wonder.

Well that's not very graceful and also just not true. We have some of the best forwards in the country.

That lazy analysis of Tyrone has been doing the rounds for years.

Our management have been guilty of playing a negative and counter productive system but when we actually go out and express ourselves we can be devastating.

Our main problem is that we don't have enough natural man markers to implement the traditional game which we would ideally like to play.

It was a good result and we played well in patches today but it was against very poor opposition.

I still think we will be in the super 8's but it may take another year to refine a more positive system of play to realistically have any chance of winning an all Ireland.

Don't feel too bad Kildare fans, it wasn't Meath you played today. You played what prob is second best team in ireland. We beat Dublin in croke park this year in the league with plenty to spare. Tyrone will go all way to semi final at least if not lift sam for fourth time. They showed a real lack of interest in Ulster but always have their eye on main prize. I think they like qualifiers because of all the games they get, better than winning province and sitting around for weeks.

Jesus lad I'd leave the crowing until we actually beat some half decent teams in the championship. We let kildare back into it big time before half time and any slip like that against a Kerry or Dublin or even Donegal or Galway and we would have a mountain to climb. We're heading the right road but we conceded an awful lot of easy scores against a fairly average Kildare outfit.
When you look at what the dubs did last week to Meath you would have to be mad to think we have the beating of them yet.

An interesting analysis. I will keep it in mind as the summer goes on.

A real lack of interest in Ulster. LOL.

that was some hammering we handed out today...it was an outstanding result after many so called experts were predicting a tough game and even a kildare win...to win this by 10 points was a fantastic result...i was very critical of some of the players after the donegal result...to be fair there have been changes and some of those who were very poor that day have been dropped completely or reduced to cameo roles off the bench...again some so called experts were saying before today that mickey harte didn't know what system to play and that there was unrest in the camp...that performance there today didn't seem to be the work of a squad that is in dissaray...so we are in the final 12...too early to talk about super 8's, but we'll see where the next day takes us...

Much better performance from Tyrone, they were much the better team. They have gone back to basics and look a better team for it. Kildare were very poor in defence, loads of men back but no one tackling. Tyrone should make the Super 8s now although Galway or Cavan could be tricky games potentially. Darren McCurry is a big help in the forward line and Cathal McShane is having a great year.

Hold my hands up, thought Kildare would run Tyrone very close but I was wrong. Tyrone are a better side than I or many others give credit.

I'd say you are pretty close to the mark. I saw Tyrone vs Longford and was hugely impressed by them even allowing for the opposition and for the fact they werent too pushed about showing the level of their superiority on the scoreboard.

It just goes to show how poor Kildare and Meath are all the same. They keep moaning about Dublin being in Leinster but the reality is that neither of these counties have raised their levels. Both would be second tier in any other province. Tyrone are a fit team and I think that was key today. They had it easy against a less fit team who let them have possession in their own half, who broke slowly on the counter and who resorted to aimless shots from around the 45. No top team comes to the party with those suicidal ingredients. Good win for Tyrone. If they landed in Dublin's group they could get to the semis but think they would struggle in the other half of the draw.
