Forget the Derby, there is only one show in town this weekend. lillies1 (Kildare) - Posts: 2 - 28/06/2019 11:37:10 2202041 Link 1 |
I expect a really tight game with Tyrone to edge it... ConnollyDub (Dublin) - Posts: 2007 - 28/06/2019 11:49:27 2202048 Link 0 |
I think we are a much better team and have higher aspirations for the summer. The defeat to Donegal was really disheartening especially the manner of it. However, if we can't beat Kildare and any of the losing provincial finalists, then we really have no business in the super 8s or further afield. In the past we have peaked as the qualifiers have gone on. Hopefully we put in a signature performance on Saturday. Pack the suncreen. Bad noises coming out of this Tyrone camp lately. Good few walked away this year and pundits suggesting all is not well amongst them. Maybe things are going stale? tulachmhór (Offaly) - Posts: 145 - 28/06/2019 12:35:37 2202057 Link 0 |
Im usually optimistic with Tyrone but I just cant see us winning in Kildare. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 28/06/2019 12:35:55 2202058 Link 0 |
Didn't you tip Longford to do us last weekend?

I think Tyrone have notions about themselves which is partly their problem. Granted they got to an All Ireland final last year but I'd put that achievement in the same bracket as Down 2010 and Mayo 2004 in that whilst managing to somehow come through the pack they had little chance of winning it. sam1884 (UK) - Posts: 999 - 28/06/2019 13:00:29 2202066 Link 1 |
Tyrone by a fair bit in my opinion. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 28/06/2019 13:06:34 2202067 Link 3 |
I think this game has come a couple of weeks too soon for Tyrone. If Tyrone got Kildare in the Super 8s after a few qualifier wins, then I would fancy Tyrone, but they have no momentum built up and I think Kildare will win. Nicely priced at 5/2 aswell. Ye still chatting about bateing longford? As someone else said, ye reverted to type to get over the line against a div 3 team decimated of first teamers. Well done. I cant see it being enough in st conleths. Kildare will match ye physically and wont gift easy goals I'd be happy to be proven wrong as I dont think kildare would offer as much as tyroen in the 8s who probably would improve as the season goes on. This game is too early imho. All the best either way. tulachmhór (Offaly) - Posts: 145 - 28/06/2019 13:40:39 2202078 Link 0 |
I do sense a bit of fear around Tyrone fans at the moment but I do expect us to come through this with a bit to spare.

Paddy Neilan as ref isn't exactly confidence inspiring... if_in_doubt (Kildare) - Posts: 3685 - 28/06/2019 14:52:32 2202105 Link 3 |
People saying Tyrone are just an average team who got lucky last year are talking nonsense. They have some really great players - Donnelly, Harte, Colm Cavanagh, McGeary and Tiernan McCann when he returns from suspension. We have seen Tyrone struggling before early in the year and come good, last year being a prime example. I still expect to see Tyrone in the Super 8s and then all bets are off. They will probably revert to their running game and they are a very good side when that clicks. Green_Gold (Donegal) - Posts: 1876 - 28/06/2019 16:38:29 2202126 Link 0 |
Tyrone will win pretty easily I'd say. Would be (pleasantly) surprised if they don't. JoeSoap (Donegal) - Posts: 1432 - 28/06/2019 16:39:45 2202127 Link 0 |
Draw and Tyrone to win in extra time. PortInFaithful (Offaly) - Posts: 472 - 28/06/2019 17:16:41 2202142 Link 0 |
Tyrone to win with a bit to spare. It's not like Kildare has the most potent attacking options in the country. Tyrone will manage the game and if it suits might just take Kildare to the cleaners. A big game from them is overdue now. seanie_boy (Tyrone) - Posts: 4235 - 28/06/2019 18:11:21 2202159 Link 0 |
Having watched our defence strangle the Kildare forwards in Brewster earlier in the year, and how poor they were, I can see Tyrone packing out their defense and winning by 3/4. McShane is in brilliant form and will be the match winner. shotgun (Fermanagh) - Posts: 130 - 28/06/2019 18:14:09 2202160 Link 0 |
You should take us to the cleaners. We've no full forward line at all and rely on our backs for scores. If you can stop them coming forward we're in serious bother.

Is your man Adam Tyrell not the highest scorer in Ireland??

Adam Tyrrell and Neil Flynn scored 0-15 between them against Antrim? I know it's Antrim but they still ticking over the scoreboard. How's Jimmy Hyland been playing?
