Is there any provisional agreements in place for where the Munster hurling final is likely to be played this year. I have American expat relations mad to go on a visit home..

According to the limerick leader if limerick are to make the final it will be on the gaelic grounds regardless if it is cork or tipperary in the final.

I guess it could be in the new stadium in Cork if Cork are in the final because Cork played all their 'Home ' away from home when the stadiu8m was being rebuilt

It's a good question. If it's Tipp and Cork I reckon it will be in Cork as we tend to keep Munster final home and away separate. Last Munster final between us was 2006 and that was in Thurles.

Last Limerick and Cork Munster final was in Cork so I reckon it will be Limerick this time.

Last Tipp and Limerick Munster final was in Cork so not sure why Limerick leader thinks it will be in Limerick other than next Sunday's game is in Thurles but that will mess with next year's Munster championship fixtures.

The short answer is I don't know.

To keep it simple the Munster Council should have the final in a neutral venue I.e. in the county ground of whoever of these three isn't in the final.

The replay was in Cork. The original match was in Thurles. If Limerick make the final it's in Limerick no matter if its Cork or Tipp.

i think Tipp are motoring too well for whoever they face at this stage of things, despite decent performances from both Cork and Limerick at the weekend Tipp just seem to have so much fire power for anyone at present. would like to see them against the like of Galway or Kilkenny though. no fear or love lost in those matches usually.

The last Munster final (2014) between Cork and Limerick was played in the old Pairc Ui Caoimh. It has to be the Gaelic Grounds

Well considering went to Thurles in '35, 36, 45 and 73 and only ever contested one Munstar Final in Limerick (1996) I cannot see why it should be in Thurles. We played in Cork in 49 and 01 and Killarney in 71.

The last 2 Munster finals between Tipp and Limerick have been in Cork.

2001 Munster Final

Why would it be on in Limerick?

If it is going to be Tipp v Limerick I'd say Cork will get it and probably if Tipp v Cork will also be in the Pairc.

We owe them a few games down there!!

Which grounds have the bigger modern day capacity between Killarney, thurles, PUC and the GG?

Limerick have put up bigger scores against Waterford and Clare than Tipp and were caught cold against Cork so I don't see how you can blanketly say that Tipp have too much fire power for Limerick. 50/50 game for me.

Also the 'no fear or love lost' comment regarding Galway and Kilkenny would apply even more in a TIpp Limerick game.

Well considering four of the last five Munster Finals, played at home venues, between these counties have been played in Thurles, why should it not be played in Limerick.

The last Munster Final between Cork and Limerick (2014) was played at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Simply said, its Limericks turn

While I agree, there should never been home advantage in a Munster final.

You should be more concerned with your Leinster final.

I think my post was misunderstood. If deciding who should have home advantage is decided in isolation of this new round robin structure and based on previous Munster finals between teams then Tipp will be playing in Limerick or Cork if we qualify. Cork would have to travel to Limerick too.

What I do think would make more sense though is to have a Munster final at a neutral venue.

Would be nice to rotate it between the big 3 every year regardless of who is in. That way stadiums and towns could plan in advance and put on a bit of a show.

I imagine Clare and Wford would not be best pleased though
