Very lucky Ulster wins. To meet a Donegal team with AI hangover in 2013 and badly managed in 2015 as well as Tyrone still being in transition in that time."
I'd say all teams that won Ulster titles post 2014 could fall into your "lucky" group. I doubt those teams would have won Ulster titles in other era's.

Tyrone are the form team in Ulster, though as usual it will be a tough championship to win as usual. Derry have serious talent, though still young and could give Tyrone problems for a while on Sunday. Donegal are the team that could catch them out in the semi.
Monaghan should make the super 8 and that will do me. Easiest route there could well be the qualifiers. Cavan will go all out to beat us next week and it will be tight,
Prediction: Donegal and 4 Ulster teams in the Super 8s

That Donegal team won an all ireland against a team known for bottling a final in CP. When faced with a more seasoned outfit it didnt work out."
Mayo aren't the only team who bottle it in Croker..

Agree with this. Think Tyrone could well turn ulster this year into the Leinster championship in that they will be so far ahead of the rest their fitness levels are unreal and only Dublin or Mayo are at that levek. Donegal have huge talent pool play some nice football but I don't see the hardness in them particularly defensively they had under McGuinness/Gallagher. Playing in div 2 won't help either. Tyrone will shut down their attack in the semi final in their usual manner . Not sure we will do a whole pile this summer given we are missing our three best some would say only midfielders and a lot of the lads have been going to the well one summer too many now. That said there still could be a kick in us if we meet one of the fancied teams at some point so while I don't see us winning anything we would be dangerous to a Galway or Kerry in a one off match but could just as easily get beaten by Cavan next weekend or Longford in the qualifiers.

Yah I wouldn't be a fan of those comments. Shows there is a degree of rivalry between many counties in ulster by reading some comments on this thread. Cavan and Monaghan for instance seems to have a wee edge there.

Aye there can be a wee edge with us and folks next door...way more so than with any of our other neighbours. Tyrone would be in second place (way behind).

After watching Tyrone yesterday nothing has changed to make me think that they won't be Ulster champions this year. They maybe were a wee bit complacent in the second half but once Derry got their noses in front Tyrone just upped it a gear or two and won comfortably in the end. McShane gives them a great outlet inside and he had a fine game yesterday.

The wing back Cassidy is a great addition as well. He's another physically imposing player with plenty of pace and an eye for a score.

Donegal have some good attacking options but lie others have said we're a bit light in the physical stakes at the back compared to what we used to be. We need to concentrate on beating Fermanagh first which won't be easy in Brewster.

Well down to Cavan. With the U21 success in recent years this had to come some time soon. It should be a great battle between then and Armagh and both will fancy their chances.

I think this Monaghan team have run their course. Their best chance of silverware was an Ulster but with that gone now their season is probably going to fizzle out. Mc Manus will be 33 by next year's Ulster Championship and he looked deflated yesterday. Are we seeing them being replaced in future seasons by Cavan/Armagh. Maybe Malachy has done all he can.

Well done Cavan. I predicted Monaghan to win because I thought there was no one to mark McManus. How wrong as I.

Faulkner had a great game, very disciplined.

Mackey is a good sub to bring on, Martin O'reilly was excellent.

For Monaghan, poor show. extremely poor in first half. A lot of lads have a lot of miles on the clock. MOR didn't get his team selection right, Malone, Carey, Ward poor. McManus and O'Connoll weren't as effective as usual. Hughes excellent however his constant diving and trying to get people booked/sent off is horrible.

Great victories for Cavan and Armagh over the weekend. Hard to know who would win that semi-final but think these 2 teams are going in the right direction.

Donegal will get it tough against Fermanagh but hopefully we can get through. Cant see Antrim having any joy against Tyrone. A Tyrone v Donegal semi-final would be tasty. Surprised to read that Lee Brennan left the Tyrone squad. Surely he is is one of the best forwards in Tyrone? Was there something else going on there.

Mooney's red card was a huge turning point , if Morgan who broke paddy Andrews jaw is a yellow then how is Mooney's a red? He was a massive his pace is a huge asset for Down and he was causing Armagh loads of damage. I think Down win if he wasn't sent off. Great game all the same the young fella up front for Armagh is going to be some talent love how he plays.
