I'd keep the 2 Petey Hartes. They'd be a nightmare to mark.

From our side, Shane Walsh has had an excellent league. Tom Flynn has had some big performances, and in more recent games Antaine Ó Laoi and Danny Cummins.

Galway have more players missing than anyone else in terms of lads who'll be on the championship panel.

In addition to the 5 or 6 Corofin lads who'll be on the panel Conroy, Comer & Varley haven't been seen during the league. Kyne got injured in the 1st game, McDaid got injured in the second game & Brannigan has played about 15 minutes of the league. Missing 11 or 12 for the majority of the league.

This appears to have been a bit of a blessing as its led to Galway finding a couple of player mainly O'Laoi who was in nobody's thoughts.

Funny in another post you say you have not seen us up close. Gas how media (correct or otherwise) influences the perspective.
In fairness anyone who saw our 1st half performance in Castlebar or how we played last Sat in Salthill would have a different view or at least they should have.

Yes we were very poor 2nd half against Dublin and 1st half against Monaghan. But who has not had poor periods during the league. Most Galway football folk I have spoken to acknowledge we are not always pleasing to the eye but can any county honestly believe they are whiter than white.

An honest question but are all those players genuinely injured OR are some of them making themselves unavailable by choice? I heard the latter some time back and it's a bit of coincidence that the players are now injured.

My Div 1 team from the games I seen would be:

Morgan

Higgins
Cooper
Brian Begley (wont attempt Irish spelling)

Ben O'Donnell
Tom O'Sullivan
Dara Moyihan

M.Ruane

Sean O'Shea
Peter Harte
F McDonald

Cox
Mannion
Petey Harte

Probably missed a few but its a starting point. Replace at will"
no offence but Brian O'Beaglaoich probably wouldn't get on the Kerry team of the league. Grand going forward but no shutting lads down in the corner.

Sorry you cannot have a team of the league without Cillian O'Sullivan and and McGill of Meath. And that's not biased.

Can only judge two galway players on the team.
Sean Andy has had a very poor league campaign and cooke has been ok in the games but didnt play any part against Tyrone.

I struggled to pick a team of the league TBH. Not that many stands out, A few good games by individuals here and there. for example Aidan O'Shea v Kerry, Costello v Mayo. Sean O'Shea the clear player of league. Player of the league for us was Cox for our neighbours Shane Walsh remains key for Galway and Cummins was good in the last few games and Mayo McDonagh,Ruane impressed.

Not the best of league for goalkeepers, most of them need to stay in their goals. No outstanding full backs or CHB on show. Dean Rock,Conor McManus once again proved they are the most important and consistent scorers for their teams. The mark did produce some fine fielding of the ball but probably not as much as expected. Black card needs to be totally scrapped and go back to just yellows and red cards.

Ian Burke has played well in 3 or 4 championship games, Comer the same (spends half his time at half back starting rows). Some are average county players at best Duane,Silke and Conroy. The others are good club players at best.
A players reputation goes up when not playing for Galway because it's so hard to show your skills marking space in your own half.

Lads are incapable of honesty debate without my county is better than yours starting. Awful childish.

The players that stood out to me were

A O Se Mayo
Matt Ruane Mayo
Tom Flynn Galway
Shane Walsh Galway
C Costello Dublin
Mattie Donnelly Tyrone
Sean O Se Kerry
Tommy Walsh Kerry

Obviously biased towards Galway as I have seen all their games and only bits of other teams. Flynn is arguable but he was very consistent, Shane Walsh however is the player of the league (followed closely by s o se). Unreal in every game except against the dubs (we were muck that night). Danny Cummins ended with 4 goals and a few points from 4 games from play so could throw him in.

I didn't pay much heed to defenders!!

My team of the league:
Hennelly
Higgins Sherwood Crowley
TO'Sullivan Murphy Durcan
O'Shea Ruane
Harte O'Shea Walsh
Cox McShane SO'Brien

6 Kerry players and only 5 Mayo even though they won it. That is mostly because they rotated so much.
