Hurling League To Date

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

To me it's not been an exciting league but it never is playing in muck. What have we learned:

1 Limerick are the team to beat and looking a good deal stronger than this time last year.

2 Offaly finally after years of trying get relegated to second tier.

3 Kilkenny Cork and Tipperary occupy last 3 places in the main division is there another golden era on the horizon.

4 Welcome Carlow and Westmeath to the big time at last deserve to be in the top league for 2020.

5 Some lovely hurlers coming through Conor Boylan Shane Golden Diarmuid Ryan are few that spring to mind straight off the bat.

6 Every team is now moving the ball 20-30 yards passes and the old style lump the ball into the full forward is obsolete. Hope this doesn't destroy the fastest field game in the world.

100% agree apologies left him out. And of course the Dubs topping their division too.

I'd be very worried if I was from KK.
I know the Ballyhale boys are due back but they looked like a shell of a team on Sunday with no leaders.
Cilian Buckley is massive, if he's gone so are KK.
And for those that will say that TJ will pull them out of the fire I really wouldn't be so sure. Here's a stat for you - Lee chin, Rory o connor, Conor Macdonald Jack o Connor and Paul Morris all averaged more from play last year than TJ. And that's not even including Wexford match against Westmeath just to be fair.

To be fair, Rory established himself last year, he's hardly still 'coming through'

Sure, I just mean people were aware of his talents. The likes of Boylan or Ryan were barely known outside their counties. Buy ya, he looks to be a big star of the future for sure.

Good to see a Wexford man bullish in relation to playing KK but I doubt they're quaking in their boots down Noreside way just yet. It's March and it's the league...2 important things to note. Wexford and Galway look like they are the most likely to contest the Leinster final this year but things could change quickly when the real hurling starts in May.

Think it will be a very competitive in Leinster this year. Maybe Galway a wee bit ahead of the pack but Wexford looking good so far and the dubs are shaping up nicely. Hard to make out kk.... Yes missing ballyhale lads but as Larry mentioned they seem to be lacking leaders.

I hope its Kilkenny and Wexford Leinster final if i'm being honest. Galway, lets be fair don't care about winning a Leinster other than the fact it gets them to an All Ireland semi final. As a Wexford man i find it embarrassing for the Galway players going up to collect a trophy they don't care about. Galway fans i'm not having a go here, not Galway fault they have been put into this position.

Been saying that for the last few years.
I put up a list of scores from play from Reid and also Canning over the last few seasons and Noel Mcgrath actually doubled their scores from play and he is also Tipp's playmaker a such.
TJ's league form last year was excellent but he hardly scored in the cship. Frees are critical and hes the best around but he was marked out of a number of cship games.
Having said that KK will still take some beating but arent in top 4 no more than Tipp are this year.
