A must win game really especially after Saturdays loss if we are to have any chance of figuring in the promotion shake up.

I do not rate this Armagh team at all. They won a very weak Division 3 last year and then were well beaten by Fermanagh in the Ulster Championship. They got some very kind draws in the qualifiers before going out to Roscommon. I see Jamie Clarke is back which would be a boost for any team but having picked up a straight red last week i assume he may not be available.

Having said that they are the type of team we struggle against and if it goes to form then it will be a dour battle but one where we should be coming out on top.

Whether or not there will be a positive reaction from Meath after the game on Saturday is the key question for me and if there is then we should win by 2/3 points.

Jamie Clarke got a straight red v Clare so his boots won't trouble the Pairc Tailteann grass, it's must win in terms of being in the promotion hunt and I believe we will win, if we play like we did for 60 minutes against Donegal and tidy up the shooting in front of goal I have no doubt we will win. We suffered due to a bad error that sucked the life out of us and we couldn't get back in the groove, had a great chance for an equaliser but a rushed shot saw it blaze wide, a little more composure in front of goal is needed.

Once we play like we did for the 60 minutes last week but play the full 70 there is no way we can lose this game. We still cant produce a full game and finish well. Even if we finish terrible but get the win i will take that but we cant progress much more playing football like we did the last 10 minutes Saturday. The usual stupid errors that Andy has admitted so im expecting a bigger display of football next weekend. The usual expectations for this time of year, if we can win this we are in a great position to getting that promotion. For me i genuinely think we can beat them by at least 3pts.

Yeah I think we can and will win. It really is a defining game. Especially after Saturday.

Is Jamie Clarke definitely suspended for Sunday? That'll be a big swing for us if he is. I think Mickey Newman will have his shooting boots back on after his rare poor showing last Saturday. Main thing for us is we need to start sticking the ball into the back of the net, not alone the advantageous position it puts the team in but the lift it gives the lads & the fans. An Mhí Abu!

Exactly this in our last four competitive games (exc O'Byrne cup) we've not scored a goal. We really need to start getting a few into the net. I think i saw someone on this or another thread mention a specialists forward coach and i'd be for this. Isn't that jayo sherlocks role for the dubs? if we have Gary rodgers for goalkeeper theres no reason we shouldn't have a forwards coach. Our forwards for years are creating 30+ chances a game but their conversion rate is under 50% with a lot of balls dropping short. That's from recall before I get accused of BS again and not having "facts". We need to improve this stat and work our scores a bit better and take less snap shots.

Not a whole lot needed to be said - It's a must win game.

I really think this game will tell us where Meath are at as there are plenty of people writing this team off losing to a Dublin "3rd string' and choking up a result against a Donegal "2nd string".

I feel this game will swing the balance and I'm looking forward to it

Think Andy should start the same 15 again this week. Consistent selection and lines in the team being comfortable can only be good for them. Biggy and Cillian haven't set the world on fire yet so i think sitting them on the bench and hopefully having a big impact from them to close out the game will help. Look at our much vaunted neighbours, its arguable that the teams at the end is better than the team that started and we need to develop that too. Imagine a team being tired and seeing Graham Reilly coming in and running at them. No disrepsect but the younger lads wouldn't generate that fear so its good to start them.

Armagh are a tough nut to crack at the best of times, but if we have any ambitions for promotion this as a home game is a must win. I think this will be dogged game that'll be won in the middle third and hopefully Kane and James can clean up on breaking balls and get it into Mickey. A goal will be a huge score in this game so I'd hope that's something we can get in the bag.

Some of you are very complacent lads... we haven't a good record against Armagh lately and McGeeney and his team are under pressure just like Meath are. Im anticipating a really tough, scrappy game, mightn't be a great standard as a result. This is exactly the sort of team that our current Meath team haven't performed against. They're abrasive, tough, and stubborn in defence, theyre mentally quite strong. If Meath play to their potential and play with a bit of venom (which we dont see too often), I think we can win it. The free kicks will be important for us as well and missing 3/4 could be a disaster. If we roll over and let ourselves be bullied, we'll lose.

Think Cillian O'Sullivan should come in for Bryan McMahon, that would be my ideal team and then Biggy to come in with 20/25 mins to go depending on how we are doing. Will be a really tough game but hopefully we do it. It is much more even then the bookies odds on it.

Team I think as expected, good to see McMahon able to play. Both Reilly and O'Sullivan are not fit enough for full 70 and best to keep them for second half. Marcus getting brought in as sub keeper is interesting as dardis is now available as a forward.

How do did you come the the conclusion Reilly and COS are not fit enough ? Did you do a late fitness test :)

I think we should win this all going well. We should be able to beat Armagh team at home minus Jamie Clarke. We we solid enough at the back. Hopefully we can get our attacking half back line moving Kane Keoghan and Mc Antee. And it would be nice to see some of the new forwards getting some scores and and building confidence.

Well it's widely known, as you know I live in westm and I know it. Surely it's all over Meath itself, herself even told me Mattie Kerrigan was talking about both of them carrying injuries the other night in the radio. So common knowledge, not giving away any state secrets.

Did Clarke's appeal fail?? I hadn't heard anything about it. Pity that as you want to be playing a full strength Armagh. I
