I think Galway will edge this, then it will get interesting.

Whats barely mentioned is that Galway played a full strength team a weak before against Monaghan whilst Dublin only started 5 players who had started against Roscommon. The majority of that Dublin team had 3 weeks to prepare properly for the semi, Galway didn't have that luxury. You could see in the 2nd half Galway just didn't have the legs too react.

Galway are nowhere near as economical in front of the posts as Dublin are, its something they've gone to improve on.

Galway have an influx of some very good backs on to the panel this year which should improve them, whether Kevin Walsh will make full use of them is another matter,

Dublin will win this game comfortably, Galway missing far too many players';

Replying To Yondu:  "Galway have a chance here especially if McMahon,O'Sullivan,McCaffrey,McCarthy,Kilkenny are out again and as last sunday proved the dubs are no where near as strong and more beatable without those players, plus Dublin have little training done right now so Galway are getting them at a good time."
"...last sunday proved the dubs are no where near as strong and more beatable without those players..."

See, I don't get this attitude. Dublin are only just back from holidays (several of the lads in Clones looked especially tanned last weekend) and are nowhere near up to speed. If they had the lads mentioned, I'd imagine that they would be equally in holiday mode and getting back to full fitness / match sharpness. Yet you claim that the last game proved they are "no where near as strong" without their full panel. I fail to see how one game, played in poor conditions, with new rules, against a strong opponent, with no pre-season tournament (vast majority of the squad weren't involved in the OBC), on the back of a holiday away can prove anything. It seems to be an en vogue attitude these days as at 10pm on Tuesday evening, Liverpool were premier league champions but at 10pm on Wednesday, they had bottled it.

Terrible second half.. Galway cant afford to be missing 10 players and expect to put up a fight.. The Dubs some strenght on the bench with Paul Flynn Jack Mc and Brian Howard coming on..
Having said that Kevin and his system will see out this year and be gone....

Costello superb tonight in a lifeless Croke Park. Parnell Park would be better but a lot of the young children would miss out.

Galway were poor. They had Tom Flynn in full forward in the first half but they didn't use him cleverly at all. Shane Walsh was completely anonymous. Their one bright spark was Peter Cooke. He is a very promising young footballer.

Dublin had 3 unestablished players starting in Sean Bulger, Ryan Basquel and Liam Flatman. I thought Bulger at wing forward was energetic while Flatman at corner back was solid. Basquel seemed quiet enough. Did these debuts come out of the blue or were they players people expected Gavin to look at?

Much improved 2nd half

Great stuff from Costello (was he named MOTM? ) Also Rock once again proved his value

A good run out, steady improvement and a handy couple of pts, Gavin giving game time to plenty of players.

Nothing more

I was not at the match, I listened to it on radio. I am not a great fan of Kevin Walsh, this will not improve my opinion of him. Anyway let us win the next match.

Injuries plagued his progress, the chap could have contributed so much more

Hopefully now he gets a good healthy run

He is class. Simple as.
