Do you think we'll be top 2? I recon we' Be lucky not to be in the bottom 2 tbh. We have had 4 retirements and 2 regulars who weren't asked back, we have 3 clubs in allireland semifinals and another 4/5 on long time injury lists including Clifford jack Barry and foley. I reckon Dublin are nailed on for the final and either 1 of Galway or Monaghan joining them. Religation between ourselves Roscommon and Cavan. First yerra of the year. You are starting early. I have a feeling Dublin will drop points this year, at least early in the league. Tyrone to profit. They are a good bet to win it out. Kerry will as usual will start slow and work it out by match 4 or 5. Roscommon and Cavan clearly favourites to be relegated but we could surprise a few and survive. The monaghan match will be pivotal. Losers of that one to join Roscommon MadgeKing (Cavan) - Posts: 490 - 16/01/2019 21:55:58 2157659 Link 2 |
How's it yerra as you call it when Iv given you reasons why we will struggle? Also we have a new manager who hasn't managed a senior intercounty team before that's another reason for you there.

I doubt us (Galway) will be troubling the final this year. We have 4 tough away games and will probably be missing 10+ players during the league between the Corofin lads being unavailable and others recovering from injuries or surgery. Fair enough.. Would you explain your reasoning behind Galway and not Mayo or yourselves going down?

Can't disagree with that..I think cavan and roscommon are probably to good for division 2 but not good enough for division 1. I will still hope we can pull off a few shocks along the way

Who are the 6 who are not on the panel this year KB? Still think Kerry will be strong this year. Too much talent coming through for them not to be.

Star , Maher, Donacha Walsh, Darran o'Sullivan and Barry john Keane and fion Fitzgerald weren't asked back joxer. Also we'll be missing Liam Carey, Kevin McCarthy , Shane Murphy , gavin white , Micheál burns , David Shaw , and Tony Brosnan , Jordan kiely all club tied. Plus David Clifford, Jason foley are out injured. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 17/01/2019 14:37:43 2157791 Link 1 |
Drawing Monaghan into the relegation picture like this is a predictable line from a predicable source. However the old stopped clock is right twice a day and unfortunately it might be right this year. Young Kearns at midfield was quietly brilliant for us last year and compensated for Kieran Hughes' absence. Both are missing for the league leaving Malachy O'Rourke with limited choices around the middle. Its times like this when the gulf in player resources will show. Off the top of my head Donaghy, Donnachadh, Darren O'Sullivan, Maher and Fionn Fitz definitely gone, can't think who else. Tbh there at no major losses above, Donaghy was a huge player in every sense but his time had come. I expect Kerry to be stronger too but not in the league. All the Dr. Crokes players and one from Kilcummin will be missing in the early rounds on top of the above and we have no available midfielders at the moment by all accounts. We also have a lot of lads likely to miss a couple of games with Sigerson duty. Once things settle and everyone is fit and available things will improve but I think we'll have lost too much ground by then to be in the mix for the league. Yeah glad to see the back of Donaghy to be honest. Added a different dimension to your attack that every back line struggled with. Very difficult to replace that.

Tommy Walsh is back in though, not sure how that will work out. Looking forward to our meeting in Tralee the last one down there was a cracker of a match. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 2105 - 17/01/2019 15:14:50 2157804 Link 8 |
It's a pity our league meetings with dubs wasn't later in the league as we'd have a good few lads back.
