| Haha, I'm suprised to moderator let this post through, it's our local divisional final PyatPree (Cork) - Posts: 376 - 12/08/2019 22:56:01 2224947Link 0 |
| Real talk more like it. You Dubs can play yourselves down all you like trying to get our hopes up again so we care but in reality we don't. I speak for every county in Leinster. We know it's not a playing field like it was in the 90's and 00's. The GAA admitted publicly they needed a stronger Dublin and back it up with the money. We're no fools and won't get emotionally attached to the idea of beating you again. The longer your dominance sets in at a national level the more this feeling will spread nationwide. | Interesting that there are tickets going on general sale for Sunday's hurling final. I can't remember this happening in recent times. Considering all the negativity surrounding the football championship, this suggests that not all is rosy in the hurling garden either! football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 13/08/2019 17:25:39 2225195Link 1 |
| There are only 250k people living in both counties and they regularly meet in the final. Definitely the most common final pairing of the last 20 years. This has happened before with the hurling. It happened for all 3 replays. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 14/08/2019 01:14:02 2225367Link 8 |

| I assume those figures are only for the Republic of Ireland, given that there is close to 5 million people in the Free State that accounts for around 16% of the country tuning in. A massive figure in this day and age. Antifa (Donegal) - Posts: 143 - 21/08/2019 16:30:09 2228292Link 0 |

| An average of 1 million tuned into the football final. How does that stand up to previous years? Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 03/09/2019 02:09:27 2232176Link 2 |

                    25,000 at the camogie final between galway and kilkenny. New record. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 09/09/2019 04:53:10 2233716Link 4 |
| Have seen it claimed in a few places that yesterday's camogie attendance was a record, but all are incorrect. There were more than 33,000 at the Wexford v Cork final back in 2007. That was very much a once-off, though. Even when Wexford won three in a row a few years later, the attendances were down to only around half that.
